This was a perfect hostel for travelling alone as a woman. I felt safe, everything was clean and the location is excellent. The kitchen is big and although I didn't cook for the night I stayed, seemed good for preparing a meal. It was helpful to read other reviews because that way I knew that the heating can make noises at night- otherwise I'd have been very confused about the sounds. This was nothing that kept me awake though. I'd recommend it and am about to book it again!

Nice/basic hostel, I had fun in New York because I had nice roommates. The location is really good and there’s subways everywhere.

Overall I loved this hostel!! The location was great and only a few minutes walk to a number of subway stations, plenty of food and drink options with very little walk and a police station over the road which made it feel incredibly safe! As I was travelling alone I was expecting to share a room, however either due to covid or the time of year I was travelling I got a room to myself which was even better. The hostel is split into multiple town houses, I ended up preferring this.

Didn't have hot water at 6 one morning (January), while the hostel was a good deal it still left a bad mark on the general experience.

The hostel was clean and the location was great, you have easily access to Broadway and main streets. Bus and metro stops are all around. But the room was so cold and I had to ask for 2 extra blankets. Besides, the heater was SOOOO noisy! in the middle of night you would wake up because of strange noises!

For me there is not much to say about this hostel. I hardly met any people and for me normally a hostel is about connecting. There haven’t been nice areas to hang out, everything was pretty simple and I really only stayed there to spent the night. The only good thing I can say is that it has a good location. It’s easy to access the subway and I would say it’s a safe area to be alone as a women. Directly in front there is a police department.

I come from Europe, so I don't know if my standards are higher for this price. There's a police department across the street, which helped me feel more secure. My room was facing the street, the shades would not close entirely, so if someone wanted they could basically peer into my room. The facility was mediocre, seemed kind of dirty. There is no elevator. I had a huge suitcase, so I had climb some stairs. Thankfully I was on the first floor, so not many. Staff was okay, some nicer than others.
