My wife and I are in our sixties. We are relaxed, easygoing people, and we found the youthful staff and guests to be a pleasant experience. Sure, there were people talking vigorously in the passage till two am, but if you don't expect that you've never been anywhere, and the conversations were entirely friendly.

The location isn’t the best as there is not much in that area. You need walk 15 mins to restaurants etc. Tons of buses and bicycle rentals down the street. I stayed in the women’s dorm 41 which was noisy. The bar & outside area is right outside the door, it was loud until 12am/1am. Also the door to the room needs to be fixed, as it’s doesn’t swing closed so the room is left unlocked 90% of the time and since there is no lockers, anyone could steal your stuff. Luckily this didn’t happen to me

Pretty excellent hostel with a lot of great features. A really great outdoor common area with lots to do, decent pub on site and not that far from all the action. It’s a small car park so be aware you may need to source another place in busy times. Avoid the quiz on Monday. The quizmaster is among the top 5 most memorable people I’ve met travelling, for all the wrong reasons.

Clean and safe. Not very central, but convenient for the Roma Street station. Staff weren’t friendly unfortunately.

Since the bathrooms are shared I thought it is necessary to have a changing area where we can get dress without splashing all the way to the room or inside the shower. There’s also no shelves to put your thing Also missed a quiet area indoors because even though the hostel is quite big all the main chilled areas are outdoors and on chilly nights guests don’t necessarily want to be out or in the room. For me personally it was also disturbing to have music on loud speakers at 8 in the morning.

Just okay. There weren't security lockers in the rooms, only a security box behind the counter, so you had to check in/out anything you wanted to keep safe. The hostel as a whole was pretty cool with the pool, bar, rooftop view, and cafe, but it felt a bit dated. The free wifi was awful and they advertised paid high-speed, which led me to believe that they intentionally have awful free wifi so you want to pay for high-speed. Staff was super friendly and helpful, no complaints there.

The guy working the front desk when we checked in was rude, but the man helping at check out was great, so i’d say staff is pretty mixed as far as helpfulness. Rooms were fine, but we didn’t like that there were no lockers in the individual rooms. Kitchen is a good size, but you have to hire utensils and keep them with you or you’ll be charged if they’re misplaced/taken by another guest. Easy place to meet other travelers with the outdoor terrace and bar area. Best part of the hostel!

Basic is the best way to describe this hostel. From deposits required for plates and cups to room set-up. I've paid the same at other hostels with far superior facilities. Bit of a rip off personally but that could be as its in the city and costs for running might be expensive. Room mate also mentioned it costs $10 to wash and dry! Wouldn't stay again. Best suited for party travellers.

Greeted by the grumpiest man and told I’d have to checkout then re-check in at 3pm (I’d extended my stay). The female dorm was in the basement with no natural light. You are given your sheets to make the bed up, not a problem but didn’t arrive until after 9pm after a day travelling. Very noisy at night! Expected bar noise but there’s also doors banging, loud voices, street noise and people above. Bathroom isn’t clean, taps broken and needs work. Returning to Brisbane but booked another hostel.
