We had a great stay at Clyde Hostel. The place has an excellent hostel environment, people are friendly and they even have one of the cutest dogs I've ever seen: Clyde. We stayed in a private room which was clean and tidy. We could make use of the kitchen which was fully equipped with everything we needed to cook our meals. The location is a bit far away from the city centre, but it's walking distance (circa 15 min). However, the place is located right next to Kelvingrove Museum!

The hostel brought me back to my backpacking days. The lady at the reception was really nice and had a good vibe. the people in my room were like minded backpackers who were very interesting and respectful. The price was amazing for the 2 nights. My friend and I slept really well. If we're in Glasgow again, we'll be back! Thank you!

I personally think its great if you only go there to sleep. For me that was the only purpose. The location is great, basically everything can be in walking distance

Don't let the reviews put you off! We thought we'd made a mistake booking here after reading the reviews, but we were far from wrong. Yes OK the bathrooms were not the cleanest but they weren't the end of the world, and the lack of showers didn't really affect us on our stay. The staff were lovely!!! It's family run and u can tell they care, and the atmosphere and people was amazing, like a little family, I genuinely felt so safe and at home here, sure it wasn't perfect but I truly loved it!!!!

Great value for money in terms of its location but ONLY IF you intend to stay here for just 1 night and don't intend to use the showers and toilets. The showers, in particular, are so filthy that you will be fearful of contracting an STD by just bathing there. Do better!

The location is amazing and the beds are ok, however the facilities are to be improved, just like the cleanliness.

Honestly not a great hostel. The staff were very nice but half the time they weren’t even there, the bathrooms were covered in mold, the rooms were okay but had a layer of dust on the floor, lockers didn’t seem to work (could’ve been my mistake) and apparently 2 girls saw a rat in the trash can in the kitchen. Cute building though?

Of course this is a cheep place to stay so you can't expect to much. But I as a young female definitely felt very uncomfortable. Old and dirty facilities, open doors all the time, showers I didn't want to enter and waiting for an hour in order to get checked in. This is definitely no place for hostel newbies. The only positive thing was some of the other guests.

DO NOT STAY HERE! Not worth the cheap price! -Rats in kitchen - No toilet paper (staff don’t care and our unwilling to provide more until they can be bothered to go to the shop and restock. This meant one day we got up and couldn’t use the toilet) - Whole place hasn’t been cleaned in what looks like years - Owners NEVER at reception so if you ever need anything or have a question do not expect to get any help. There was although a group of creepy men always lingering round… AVOID!!

This was very scary being in the hostel! As a young woman this was the worst hostel to go it was very dirty and people did not respect the rules with no food in the room and no one cleaned after themselves in the kitchen. The one key opened to all the room so anyone could get in and the room I was in someone left the door open all night. There was no one at the front desk and in the morning the didn't open kitchen. I left early because the first night was so bad and they gave me no refund.
