If you love the backpacker lifestyle and meeting awesome people from all around the world, head to Clyde Hostel. We're an adults-only place and most of our evenings are spent hanging out together in the common area, listening to tunes and maybe playing some drinking games. When the Scottish summer comes around, you can take your drinks outside to our terrace – stick around for a spectacular display of stars if it's a clear night. We’ve got free Wi-Fi so you can check out the area's can't-miss sights and add them to your agenda.

Location

Art and culture fans will love our location close to The King's Theatre and the SSE Hydro. For nightlife, the epic Sub Club is just a 10-minute bus ride from us, and the edgy converted warehouse SW3G is a 20-minute walk away. Getting to farther spots is no problem – we’re close to bus stops and Charing Cross train station is a 5-minute walk. From the airport, hop on the shuttle bus to Glasgow Central Station, then take the 16, 18 or 57 bus and get off at Berkeley Street.

Crash out in a shared dorm or grab some extra space in a private room. They all come with handy essentials like a safety deposit and a personal reading light. You can shower whenever you like as the water's hot all day and night, and we’ve got laundry facilities and an iron so you can freshen up your kit ahead of nights out.

Exactly what a hostel should be. Great value for money. Hostel staff were also great value (Ben we love and miss you). Pretty hilarious all round. Would recommend chatting to staff for good stories. Would stay again. Message us back Ben. Please.

    Very Good

The hostel might look a little messy and artsy, but that happens to be just my style. But i can totally imagine that it's not your thing, so then it might be a little overwhelming and wild. The beds were alright, not too comfortable, but enough for a night. They could improve on the amount of showers and toilets, i don't think there are enough for the amount of beds the hostel provides. I loved the uniqueness of the hostel, you won't find one like this anywhere else and the location was great.

Basic hostel, quiet and relaxed. Beds in private are not the best for comfort but do the job for a short cheap stay

It’s exactly what the reviews tell you it is. If you don’t like dogs, and want to spend all of your time in your room... this is not the place for you. Glasgow is a town for night life and having a good time, this was a perfect place to crash and wash yourself. You get what you get for the price and I love Clyde the dog so much!

It is value for money, thats it. It is quite far away from the city centre, facilities are old, not functioning as normal, you will need to switch off the room light outside the room....

Although the location was good, the hostel was very outdated and appeared as unclean. The mattresses were thin, there were stains on pillows and an over uncleanliness feel that resulted in us not staying in the hostel. Have definitely stayed in better hostels for the same price.

We stayed a couple of friends for one evening. To be honest the place is quite average. Ok for one night and I guess Scotland is quite expensive so value for money is ok. However the place is quite dirty (stained bedsheets, shared bathroom, etc). Also, the door of our room was half broken. our room was in front of the main corridor, noise from the early morning. Not really great atmosphere in the common areas.

We booked 1 night in this hostel and couldn't go in because my ID expired 2 days ago. I can understand that it is the rule, but the guy a reception was not friendly at all and we couldn't discuss anything.

The cleanliness was terrible. The staff was rude. No enough information. The toilets and showers were dirty. Definitely not come back again.
