I had a great stay at Copenhagen Downtown. There was an awesome atmosphere and everything was super clean. The bar could get a little loud at night but management realizes this and provides ear plugs so you can block it out. Would definitely recommend and I would stay here again in the future!

The bathroom was really above all expectations. The room was very good to. There are no curtains in the beds, which I usually like. Helpful staff!

The hostel is very well located. The reception area is in the bar, which can make check-in a bit hectic, there is a mix of a crowd with some very older guests, but overall the vibes are good. I would suggest if possible maybe organizing the rooms by approx age, but just a suggestion. I met some chill people, and although at times it felt crowded, it's not a deal breaker. The staff were friendly, and willing to help if you asked questions.

The bathrooms being separate from the rooms was an issue for me. There were only 3 showers and 3 toilets for an entire floor. It could get gross at times, plus it was annoying to walk so far in the middle of the night. But the location was great and so was everything else.

Great location & decent room. There was an enormous poster of John Travolta in the room which was a good laugh. The room was very hot however and the window opened up to the garbage area were we were woken by glass bottles being recycled every morning. Didn't have a good sleep the whole trip.

    Very Good

    21 May 2019
Costly and does not have a kitchen. Good security system, however the lockers for the top bunks are small and hard to access. In the six person rooms, there are two beds that share a wall with the door. Every time someone shuts the door, it shakes the beds. Unfortunately, I was on one of these beds and did not get a very good sleep due to slamming of the door. For the amount of $ I paid, I was very disappointed Staff are helpful and the hostel is very centrally located.

To be honest I found it too big and I didn’t enjoy the bar downstairs since it was so big and much more a regular bar environment then a hostel one. I also thought the washrooms were far away and very dirty.

Copenhagen Downtown Hostel says

I think what puts us ahead of the rest is that we're the real backpackers' in town, made by travellers for travellers. We want you to experience the real Denmark, its people, its humor and its personality. I believe that this place is the expression of a hostel how should be all around the world - full of magic, activities, livable common areas and crazy people that give this place an enjoyable and fun atmosphere.
The common area features a Scandinavian retro design with recycled wooden floors from old Copenhagen apartments used for the tables and benches, plus a lot of bright colors, wall maps, and other design features to make the area warm and welcoming.
There's lots to do in this area but I definitely recommend visitng Christiania - the Freetown - a unique place occupied/squatted in 1971 and now a community, where people live and chill out. Furthermore, the place has grown with bars, cafés, restaurants, concert places, art and has its own very peculiar atmosphere.
If noticed in advance, we can provide all kinds of food/drinks for special needs, such as gluten-free bread. Lactose free milk (soya drink) is always in stock. Kim, Manager
