Everything you could want from a hostel. Rooms were clean, washrooms were decent enough and the beds were comfortable. The bar downstairs is always very active and the staff were helpful. Would recommend to anyone coming to Copenhagen.

I had an amazing stay at the Copenhagen Downtown Hostel! The staff were so friendly and we met some great fellow travellers from all over the world. I think the breakfast was a little pricey for the quality you receive, so I recommend heading to a local cafe close by for breakfast. Overall, I would highly recommend this hostel when visiting Copenhagen :)

We only stayed for one night, due to needing to catch a plane the next morning, and it was pleasant. Unfortunately it can get pretty loud at night due to the bar downstairs, but if you shut the window you can hardly hear anything. The location is fantastic, very close to the mall, Tivoli Gardens and a 10 min walk to the Central train station. Slightly expensive for what you get but overall a nice stay!

Great location, friendly staff. People should know that it’s noisy in the evenings up to a certain point. For me it was fine but others might not like it.

    Fabulous

The cleaning staff was my favorite part. They were so sweet and kind. Bathrooms are really nice. Elevator was older than my great great grandpa’s dog. Front Desk didn’t really give you a whole lot of information, and seemed like they had other things they wanted to do. Bar Tender seemed cool. Good activities to do, if a bit overcrowded. Easy to get to transportation. Good location. Laundry facilities, around $10.

    Good

Location is good. Breakfast is ok, Staff are friendly. Bike rental is reasonable. Customer service isn't great. 2 separate nights I had a guy having sex in the dorm room. Security wise that isn't good. Anyone can bring who they want back with ease. I told staff about 2nd incident and they didn't do anything. Both nights got barely no sleep. No compensation awarded. Lockers 10 dkk per hour is crazy. I got mine for 5dkk all day with bagbnb. Music can be heard from level 1 - 3 if you need sleep.

    Good

    23 Feb 2020
The staff was great! I could feel the spring of the bed on the 1st night and informed the front desk who switched me to a different room but it was very hot so we opened the window and it was incredibly noisy with people shouting every 10 minutes until 1am (Monday night). The shower was also very unpleasant so it was overall a bad experience with little sleep in 2 nights. It's a shame, the staff was very friendly and helpful!

Copenhagen Downtown Hostel says

I think what puts us ahead of the rest is that we're the real backpackers' in town, made by travellers for travellers. We want you to experience the real Denmark, its people, its humor and its personality. I believe that this place is the expression of a hostel how should be all around the world - full of magic, activities, livable common areas and crazy people that give this place an enjoyable and fun atmosphere.
The common area features a Scandinavian retro design with recycled wooden floors from old Copenhagen apartments used for the tables and benches, plus a lot of bright colors, wall maps, and other design features to make the area warm and welcoming.
There's lots to do in this area but I definitely recommend visitng Christiania - the Freetown - a unique place occupied/squatted in 1971 and now a community, where people live and chill out. Furthermore, the place has grown with bars, cafés, restaurants, concert places, art and has its own very peculiar atmosphere.
If noticed in advance, we can provide all kinds of food/drinks for special needs, such as gluten-free bread. Lactose free milk (soya drink) is always in stock. Jesper, Manager
