The location is great, beds are comfortable and the staff are friendly. A few small areas need to be improved, like shower curtains because your clothes get wet in the small dressing area which is not closed off from the shower. There are always long queues for check in. They should introduce online check in Like a lot of hostels are doing so check in only involves picking up a key.

very fun place, I would not recommend for people on a work trip or with a family as it is more of a party hostel. Cool place, but hostel rooms had very minimal amenities. showers were cold, drinks were cheap (but good!), good food, friendly staff, I ended up getting a hotel room next door. I enjoyed hanging out there but could not sleep

Loved the atmosphere of this place, wonderful staff, and with the events in the bar it was super easy to make friends as a solo traveller! My room was perfectly nice and clean. However the cleanliness of the bathrooms needs work- the bathroom in the bar is so bad that I would go to the toilets in the bar across the street instead! The ones in the rest of the hostel were better but not much better.

I think the padlock should be included in the cost of the room. If needed they could use a deposit for the padlock if they think people won't give it back. The padlock should be given at the start and taken back with the keys during check out. The ambience was nice. I felt a bit unsafe at night going from the reception to my room.

So we have only been there for one night that is why we can’t really talk staff and atmosphere. When we came into the room, the floor was insanely sticky and the whole room smelled as if 10 drunken horses stayed in there all the time, also it was insanely hot and since there was a lot going on downstairs we could not even open the window. The toilets were even worse. They smelled worse than the worst traintoilets I have ever seen. So if you want to do more than party and get drunk, dont go there

We were quite disappointed by this hostel. Having booked a ten bed dorm (specifically selecting to have 1 room) not 10 beds we were surprised to find that we were split across three rooms each of 10 people. Also, while sheets are included, they had not been changed on a couple of the beds and we couldn’t find anyone at the reception to help (during their working hours). The cleanliness of the bathrooms was very low and in one instance found a Poo on the bathroom floor not really hostels fault.

The room smelled horrible - like body Oder - every night. The showers flooded and the toilets rarely were clean and often didn’t have toilet paper. Staff was rude and accusatory when someone else was playing on the rooftop. A fire alarm went of early one morning, but honestly the housekeeping staff made so much noise that just about every day I’d be woken up that early. They left full trash bags in the hallway some nights too. Overall a pretty mediocre hostel in a great part of town

Copenhagen Downtown Hostel says

I think what puts us ahead of the rest is that we're the real backpackers' in town, made by travellers for travellers. We want you to experience the real Denmark, its people, its humor and its personality. I believe that this place is the expression of a hostel how should be all around the world - full of magic, activities, livable common areas and crazy people that give this place an enjoyable and fun atmosphere.
The common area features a Scandinavian retro design with recycled wooden floors from old Copenhagen apartments used for the tables and benches, plus a lot of bright colors, wall maps, and other design features to make the area warm and welcoming.
There's lots to do in this area but I definitely recommend visitng Christiania - the Freetown - a unique place occupied/squatted in 1971 and now a community, where people live and chill out. Furthermore, the place has grown with bars, cafés, restaurants, concert places, art and has its own very peculiar atmosphere.
If noticed in advance, we can provide all kinds of food/drinks for special needs, such as gluten-free bread. Lactose free milk (soya drink) is always in stock. Jesper, Manager
