Property Description

Dahab Hostel, Your Oasis in the City...

It has been open since 1998. It has been registered in all the major guidebooks and has consistently received positive reviews.

Dabab Hostel is centrally located in the heart of Downtown Cairo. It is just a 3-minute-walking distance to the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir Sq., and within easy reach to the main train and bus stations.

Dabab Hostel has its own special charm. It is a collection of whitewashed huts on the rooftop attempting to recreate the feel of Sinai beach camp in an unremittingly urban Downtown Cairo.

Once you get inside, you will definitely sense the totally laid-back, chilled out and cozy atmosphere. The outdoor garden area is just superb for lounging around and catching up with other travelers in the evening. The breeze is refreshing and the vibe is incontestable.

It is an ideal place for artistic travellers as well. Enjoy the fantastic reggae music played, laying back in the sun, smoking Shisha 'Water pipe' on the rooftop at the Bedwin corner.

Sit back & relax, plan your itineraries & catch up with your family & friends by logging onto our new optimized FREE WiFi Broadband Internet coverage for the entire hostel.

Our rooms are equipped withprivate facilities and A/C. We have single, double and private dorms available and there are 39 rooms in total.

They were so lovely on the front desk, really helpful in arranging tours and helping us answer any questions! Me and my friend arrived really disorganised with our planning, and they helped us sort our trip. Great location, and a fabulous breakfast!!

Dahab Hostel offers a really cozy and chilled environment, the staff is very kind and helpful and the hostel is colourful, full of plants and life..the furniture and the services are very simple, but efficient. So if you don’t need a very luxurious lodging but you want some peace and chilling, I recommend it!

We arrived super early after an overnight train, like 4:30am and the man at the front desk, Baz, was gracious enough to check us in and show us to our room right away (even though we didn't have a reservation until that evening) free of charge! The hostel is basic but clean, and has a great atmosphere with the rooftop chill out areas. Great value for money. Also a good location within a short walking distance of the Egyptian artifacts museum.

Dahab Hostel was a wonderful place to stay! The staff were super friendly and helped in anyway you needed also while giving you tips about how to travel Egypt and things to be weary of and to look out for. I planned to stay 5 days in Cairo and the staff and Mahmoud recommended to take a tour they had on offer as I could not miss out on Aswan and Luxor during my stay. I was the highlight of my trip and to think I nearly missed it all. 5star review and fantastic place and Staff!! Amazing rooftop!

Great location, extremely friendly staff, and your own private room for less then the price of most dorm beds! The rooftop terrace situation is killer for hanging out and watching the sunset. All around a great place, but perhaps because I was there during late summer, or maybe because everyone has a room, the atmosphere was often quiet or dead. Maybe some events or activities would help get people out of their rooms and socializing.

Staff was very friendly & helpful! Good experience with the airport pickup and drop off service. Rooms were clean and air con was excellent. Great rooftop! Only downside is the WiFi didn’t work in our room so we had to go outside to use it.

Be careful if traveling during the summer, not all of the rooms have A/C. I think it's mostly the 3 bed rooms. That said, I really liked this place. The roof lends itself well to meeting other travelers and the staff is incredibly welcoming and helpful. Would definitely stay again (in a cooler season).

Friendly staff, central location, accessibility to Metro (Sadat Station)/buses/taxis, low rates, and close proximity to Kazaz (a local restaurant that serves great meals at low prices) are its positive attributes. Weak wifi (at certain hours), spartan amenities (no AC, only a wall mounted fan), and lots of cats roaming around (flea infestation?) are its negatives. Overall, if bed and shower is all you need then this is the place for you.

    1. They should be mindful that not every person can be around cats, as someone who is allergic I had to get up and move constantly when I was just trying to relax in the patio. There was probably 10 or more cats. 2. Im positive they’re in on s***s with their tour drivers. I booked a tour for Giza and other sites and instead of being taken to the entrance, I was led to the guys with camel rides and horses and basically harassed into making some kind of deal with them. I would not recommend it.
