Property Description

De'Native Guest House is a simple guesthouse with all the basic necessities required by our guest. We are located in the forest so do expect various insects all around our premises. We typically get backpackers and younger crowd staying at our place but families are welcome too.

The main building is a 100-year-old colonial bungalow, which was formally occupied by British high ranking officers during the war in the early 50′s. This is one of many colonial bungalows which still dot the hills of Cameron Highlands. Not many people get a chance to stay in one of these old buildings.

We have a common kitchen which is free for our guest to use. We also have free Wi-Fi and the barbecue pit for use. There is also a bonfire which we have almost every night.

1. Check in from 2pm and check out until 12 noon.
2. Cash only upon arrival.
3. Cancellation policy: At least a 2-day advance notice before the arrival date is required.
4. We have minimum stay of 2 nights consecutively. View House Rules

I can’t begin to explain or have enough words to describe just how wonderful my stay has been with Krish and his family. If you’re looking for a special experience, then please stay here! It’ll be a fully Malaysian experience. Also, most of the travelers are lovely. There’s a bonfire every night which allows you to have a few drinks, laughs and meet people. And if you’re lucky, karoke! :-) All in all one of my favorite and most special experiences whilst traveling. Can’t wait to come back!

It’s possibly one of the best places I’ve stayed in. The dogs, the owners and the bonfire in the nights make it feel as if you are just at a campsite at home. They are very decent people helping us out and giving us a lift into town when it rained. I can’t recommend this place enough. Chris and his family would make you feel as if you were sitting with your uncle who had all the old wise tales of the reign. Once you like dogs you’ll enjoy this place The location is slightly off on google maps

Great atmosphere, loved the dogs, the bonfire and the pool table! Location is a 10 minute walk from town - worth it for the bonfire and outside space. Only issue was the walls are so thin you can hear everything your neighbours say, we were kept up until 3AM two nights!

Great place! I loved it! If dog barking bothers you, maybe not the place for you. But really nice, everyone sits together at night tome around the bonfire.

Owners are really nice, not the cleanest place but good for what it is. If you don’t like dogs barking don’t stay but the dogs are friendly!

The hostel was a little way out of town which is ideal for the Highlands as you do feel close to nature but can still walk to the centre. The owners are friendly and accommodating. They organised a tour for us which was a lot cheaper than the tour companies and ensured the camp fire was lit each night. The hostel had a social atmosphere and lovely dogs! Our only con was the barking at night, we did lose sleep on two of our nights but apart from that, the hostel was a friendly, comfortable stay.

    Very Good

The owner is incredibly nice and the community he facilitates with the nightly campfire is great. But we stayed in a bungalow and had to leave after two nights (we were supposed to stay three) because the six dogs would not stop barking all night long, literally right outside the room, with no noise proofing. The people who run it are great! But be prepared for the dogs.
