Property Description

De'Native Guest House is a simple guesthouse with all the basic necessities required by our guest. We are located in the forest so do expect various insects all around our premises. We typically get backpackers and younger crowd staying at our place but families are welcome too.

The main building is a 100-year-old colonial bungalow, which was formally occupied by British high ranking officers during the war in the early 50′s. This is one of many colonial bungalows which still dot the hills of Cameron Highlands. Not many people get a chance to stay in one of these old buildings.

We have a common kitchen which is free for our guest to use. We also have free Wi-Fi and the barbecue pit for use. There is also a bonfire which we have almost every night.

1. Check in from 2pm and check out until 12 noon.
2. Cash only upon arrival.
3. Cancellation policy: At least a 2-day advance notice before the arrival date is required.
4. We have minimum stay of 2 nights consecutively. View House Rules

Been to Cameron many times over the years and this has been my favourite place to stay thus far. Away from the crowds yet close to town, surrounded by nature and with a bonfire to boot. Awesome hosts who treat you like family. Will only be stayinf here from this visit onwards.

This place is amazing! About a 15 minute walk from the bus station. It allows for a relaxed environment outside of the hustle of town, but very easy to still get to town. I loved the dogs and the fire pit hang-out area! The best part were the staff and locals that go ABOVE AND BEYOND to make you feel comfortable and safe while traveling. I really feel like they had my back and had my best interest at heart. I have so much gratitude for this place and the staff! I will be back!

This is one of the best places we have stayed! Really central to the town, with a short 10 minute walk to lots of restaurants and shops. De Native guesthouse was such an authentic place to stay, clean and had such a friendly atmosphere with a social bonfire every night. The owners can do nothing more to help you and we highly recommend staying here! We will definitely be back!

Just a short walk up from the main town of Tanah Rata, De'Native Guest House offers the guest a beautiful site, right amongst the mountains. The rooms are clean, the family is lovely and the conversations that one can have with the owner, Krishna, really tops off the whole experience. I could not recommend this place any more. This is the perfect place to stay if you're visiting the Cameron Highlands!

Was really nice and peaceful, near to tanah rata town. Second day didn't have WiFi cause apparently quota is down. But there was good WiFi on the first day.

The owner, Jane, was wonderful! The place is out of the way and quiet. Surrounded by beautiful nature. It wasn’t super social but maybe it was a quiet week? No water refill or lockers.

There are many dogs living on the premise, which can be fun, but if you're unlucky they may bark all night long, which happened to us. Everything was great but having 2-3 dogs barking non stop until 3-4 am was definitely frustrating. Still loved the place great ambiance.

You get what you pay for! No wifi, no lockers, no toilet roll, no soap. Bed was incredibly noisy, I kept waking myself up when I rolled over in the night! Bonfire at night was nice and dogs are cute. Not too far from centre but up a big hill!

De Native location is about an 8 minute walk into the main city centre, it is uphill, and not very well lit at night. There is no security at all. The beds are old, bathroom is outdated and not clean- rarely with toilet paper, never soap. The whole facility needs a serious update. The staff were lovely, and mentioned some personal health difficulties which I'm sure have impacted on the service. The bonfire was really nice, as were the friendly dogs. Would recommend for 1 night if necessary.

The owners were very sweet, but had preferences for their guests. They took one girl out for breakfast every day, while the others just had to search breakfast ourselves. Not always warm water to shower, not the cleanest and when I arrived literally no one was there. Couldn’t det my clothes in the room since the room was super moist. No very bad experience but could definitely be better.
