Global Village is owned by a seasoned traveller – so we know what backpackers look for in a hostel! We're in a charming 19th century building that's been converted to be contemporary and colourful, with modern luxuries like free breakfasts and Wi-Fi to make your stay go smoothly. There's art all over the walls, inspired by the striking graffiti you'll see in Belfast's streets, and a beer garden and BBQ area for chatting with new friends. You'll find indoor entertainment like a Nintendo Wii, a guitar, billiards and foosball in the kitchen – the communal hub where you can mingle with other guests while preparing dinner.

Located in the busy Queens Quarter, a favourite of students, we're around a 10-minute walk from main sights like the Botanic Gardens, the Ulster Museum and the cool architecture of Queen's University. We're less than a 5-minute stroll from Botanic Avenue, which has a lively atmosphere thick with shops, cafés and clubs. Belfast International Airport is about a 35-minute journey away on the 300a bus. You can catch this from the Europa Buscentre, an 18-minute walk from the hostel.

Rooms and Dorms

Our mixed and female-only dorms all have individual lockers, and there's a left luggage area free of charge if you need to drop off your backpack for a few hours before check-in time or after checkout. We've also got private rooms if you prefer. Bedding's included for free no matter the space you book.

Extras and activities

Our friendly, fun staff like to have a laugh but they're also knowledgeable – especially about our tours. We'll go with you on all the trips we offer, so we can tell you about the sites you'll visit in detail. We also take cleanliness seriously, with our crew sprucing up the hostel twice a day. This hostel is really nice. I had a lovely time. Staff were very helpful, we had a good craic. Special shout out to that French girl, Isaure, she showed us a cool pub. Nice atmosphere. You should definitely go there

Great place to stay, wonderful friendly staff and a lovely atmosphere. The only issue was that the shared ensuite showers for my floor weren't working, and the shower block that I had to use (downstairs) was far less private and secure.

I've stayed at other hostels in Belfast and this comes out ahead of all of them. Will return. Comfy beds, welcoming, warm vibe. No curfew, either, if that matters to you. Location is decent - near Ulster Museum. Plentiful free parking. Five minute walk takes you to Tesco or other nearby shops; 15-20 and you're in town. Breakfast was appreciated too! One thing: due to issues, showers are only available for 2h in the morn and 2h in evening, but they're warm and punchy, so in practice not an issue.

In Belfast for a weekend course and booked on friend recommendation. Located right beside the university so edge of city center. Due to course didn't get to sight see or socialize in the city. Staff were very warm and friendly, tv room in the reception was just like a chilled living room at home. Loved the way the walls were covered in artwork from different artist. Some people wrote had issues with showers, but I found heat perfect, rooms were nice, lots of plug sockets. Will stay again.

The showers were horrendous. Only one was in order and the other one stayed on for around 20 seconds then you have to press it again. Bar that you can't complain about it. Comfortable beds. Perfect location. Friendly staff and good facilities

Staff was fantastic, and great location! Lots of pubs and restaurants nearby, and located in a safe area. Building is older, which come with the slight old building musk. Nice shared common area, but WiFi was extremely spotty and beds really creaky. Would still recommend.

The staff at this hostel were really helpful, and it's great for solo traveler's looking to make friends. Closely located to a few cool attractions and almost everything you'd want to see in Belfast is within walking distance. The bathrooms are communal, but everything was clean.
