Property Description

Looking for a place to escape the city, reconnect with nature and hike your ass off? Look no further!

Hidden away in the forest, yet still very accessible, there’s a magical place called Good Bye Lenin.

The main hostel is a beautiful cabin build in 1909. It’s cosy living room with free breakfast makes for the perfect place to start the day. And what better way to end an adventure filled day than with a cold beer and some delicious food from our BBQ.

Our hostel is in the middle of nature, yet the nearest bus into town (and to the Morski Oko lake), mini market and entry to the national park are just a 5 minute walk away.

Hiking, kayaking, horse riding, mountain biking, climbing.. You name it. Pretty much every outdoor sport is possible here. And our international staff, who are mountain lovers themselves, are more than happy to help you out with recommendations and tips.

Sometimes, however, it is time to relax. Mao (the hostel cat) needs cuddling and Majka (the hostel goat) is always up for a deep conversation. Reenergize for the next day of endless fun.

To get a taste of what your stay at Goodbye Lenin could be like, just have a look at our Facebook page ‘Zakopane Goodbye Lenin Hostel’. Or better yet, drop by for a visit ;)

See you soon,

Mao, Mia, Majka and the rest of the GBL staff View House Rules

Loved my stay here! Cosy little cottage in the woods which adds to the experience and honestly gets you motivated to go hiking even more than you originally planned! Common room was awesome for planing your hiking adventures and finding people to go hiking with which made the views and the hiking experiences that Zakopane area have to offer even more epic! Staff super friendly and the kitchen helped my cook up some much needed veggies! Could do with some slightly thicker pillows though!

A little piece of heaven. Set in a perfect spot for hiking the Tatra Mountains. As it is not in the main centre of Zakopane, it is quiet and peaceful, and there is an entrance to the park literally across the road, so you can start hiking easily in your first few days without having to know your way around Zakopane. The staff were all super friendly and helpful, giving advice on hikes and routes. There is also a free breakfast provided which is great! Thanks guys, I had an amazing stay!

GBL was such a unique place tucked away in the forest! Where else can you stay with 2 cats, a goat and really caring staff? ^_^ You can even rent hiking equipment if you don’t have any. Definitely recommend this place!

As we had a private room and bathroom we were very happy with the place. Some of the communal bathrooms were not so clean as many people use them. The kitchen is small be was adequate. The location is out of town but there are buses outside that go to the mountains or into town.

    Very Good

Really lovely and beautiful cabin out of town from Zakopane. Super quiet and chill but kind of good after so much hiking. Laundry is a bit outdated - 10zty but doesn’t have a dryer, so have to share one tiny indoor clothes line with the entire hostel. Really annoying when all of your gear is sweaty or wet from the hike. The cats were really cute! Had a nice time here. I would definitely come back.

    Very Good

Good: I liked the location but keep in mind its away from town BUT very close to trails, its a cabin, its cute, staff are helpful and nice. Bad: Facilities...are the worst. Shower door almost broken, bathroom door is hard to lock, light in room didn't work, kitchen is too small, no space in fridge. Now this last one is the worst... NO MATTRESS. Your sleeping on a piece of foam, SUPER uncomfortable after hiking. Pillow is makeshift, cheap flat like a pancake. Sheets are older than my grandma.
