Property Description

Looking for a place to escape the city, reconnect with nature and hike your ass off? Look no further!

Hidden away in the forest, yet still very accessible, there’s a magical place called Good Bye Lenin.

The main hostel is a beautiful cabin build in 1909. It’s cosy living room with free breakfast makes for the perfect place to start the day. And what better way to end an adventure filled day than with a cold beer and some delicious food from our BBQ.

Our hostel is in the middle of nature, yet the nearest bus into town (and to the Morski Oko lake), mini market and entry to the national park are just a 5 minute walk away.

Hiking, kayaking, horse riding, mountain biking, climbing.. You name it. Pretty much every outdoor sport is possible here. And our international staff, who are mountain lovers themselves, are more than happy to help you out with recommendations and tips.

Sometimes, however, it is time to relax. Mao (the hostel cat) needs cuddling and Majka (the hostel goat) is always up for a deep conversation. Reenergize for the next day of endless fun.

To get a taste of what your stay at Goodbye Lenin could be like, just have a look at our Facebook page ‘Zakopane Goodbye Lenin Hostel’. Or better yet, drop by for a visit ;)

See you soon,

Mao, Mia, Majka and the rest of the GBL staff View House Rules

Its a great place and a real gem. The hostel itself is like a big cabin, there is not much space, but there is a large common room. Basically most guests come to the place to go in the mountains. What makes it great are all the interesting people that one can meet there, all with their different stories. Breakfast is free but only very basic, so it can be an advantage to bring some cheese and egg or similar so one can upgrade it. Its outside of the city, but easy to come to, take bus 11.

Hostel muito bom! Com certeza voltaria. O único ponto negativo é a cozinha ser muito pequena, mas é superável. A galera que trabalha lá é muito boa e comunicativa. Recomendo!

Maybe the coziest hostel I have been to. If you go to Zakopane to stay close to the national park and meet relaxed and cool people, that's definetly the place to stay at. It's like staying with a big family! : )

Love staying at this cozy hostel in Zakopane; even though it’s outside the main centre of town there is a bus stop right out front which quickly gets you where you need to go. Great atmosphere at this hostel, the only thing it’s missing is a fireplace.

The hostel is located about 10min by bus from zakopane. There is an entrance to the national park just across the street. The start of the trails I did was another 40min on foot though. The rooms and bathroom were clean. There were only 2 bathrooms for guests in the dorm rooms, which wasn't enough in my opinion. A big plus is the staff really. Everyone was super nice and helpful. The atmosphere was great as well, I got to know many fellow travelers.

Great hostel. Location is wonderful. Quite a distance from centrum which is nice but with great access to hiking across the road. Bedrooms and bathrooms clean only slight downside was the kitchen was very small, a little challenging when the hostel is full.

The management of the hostel was not good. Noisy visitors arriving after 11:00 PM waking us when already asleep. Smoking and talking directly in front of windows that needed to be open good ventilation, further prevented sleep. Volunteer employees working for free accommodation is not a good idea. Rated overall, poor. We left a day early, forfeiting a nights rent.
