In order to reduce our energy consumption, we turn off the power mid-day and late night. Electricity is ON between 6 AM to noon and 4 PM to midnight. Please charge your devices during these hours.

COMMUNITY: Greengo's is an integral part of the Chicanuz community, providing reliable salaried jobs to locals who would otherwise have to travel far from home to find work. We also run various community projects, building vital infrastructure in the village and donating emergency food and help to the people here. If you want to learn more about the local culture, ask us about our community and hiking tours!

FAMILIES: Please note that we do not allow children under 10 years old. We generally cater to a young-adult backpacker crowd, and do not think it is appropriate for younger children to be exposed to some of their shenanigans. View House Rules

Really enjoyed this hostel, loved the pool and the food. It's also walking distance from semuc champey. I was a bit scared it would be noisy but that was not the case, they turn off the music before midnight.

Greengo’s was a great place to stay - definitely one of my favorites. The staff was super helpful, facilities were clean, location is only 15minutes walking from Semuc Champey which beats the locations of all the other hostels. Downfalls were that the electricity that was turned off at night so none of my electronics could charge before my long bus ride the next day and also no kitchen to store or make food. I’d recommend anyone to stay here.

Yo this place was actually baller. Good atmosphere and tons of stuff around kinda made it feel resort-like. Definitely more expensive like everyone else said but I mean just stay a few nights and enjoy it.

Really lovely hostel and perfect chilled atmosphere. The food was the main let down, not very good but you have no other choice than to eat there.

Very clean hostel. Cosy private rooms but very noisy (like you are all in a room together). Nice pool and enough space to be social or to have some time alone. Food is very good but takes a long time. Also kitchen closes between 11-13. So plan your breakfast and lunch. There is no other place for food and you can’t have food with you in your room. Some staff was nice others not (but they got fired). Location is great, 15min walk to semuc park. Can be a party hostel, depends on the people.

Great place. Delicious food. Terrible bartender. Also, hot showers are only available near the dorms. We paid for a private room and had no hot showers. I do have some safety concerns about this place. People have hurt themselves falling from the top bunk in the dorm, but the owners seem completely unwilling to put a safety bar up there. Also, there is a filtered water station, but the filtration system stops working when the power goes out every night. There is no sign warning people of this.

The way that you have to purchase food and drink is a little annoying. Make sure you bring loads of money it will be very hard to go to an ATM once you get to the hostal. If you have booked a standard dorm, the beds are on top of each other and there is no floor space. The beds don’t feel very safe. If you are unlucky enough to get the highest bed, it’s a big drop to the floor. We booked one room for the three of us and got split up. Really nice pool and good activities. The staff were unfriendly and not ve

Positives are that it’s very close to Semuc Champey so you can walk in 10 minutes and the tour was really excellent. Dorms are okay and there’s a lot of chill out areas and pool. Downsides are that the wifi is poor and they turn off the electricity at midnight so can’t charge anything then. They have a stupid punch card thing for meals which were overpriced and below average. Staff were incredibly unhelpful especially one woman behind the bar who wouldn’t let us have a bowl for our own cereal as “we have to buy their food”. Also the top bunks are a bit hazardous to get into. Seems a bit overpriced for what it is but good base for the park.
