Greengo’s is in the perfect location, just a ten minute walk from the Semuc Champey pools! The tours booked through the hostel are excellent - cave tours, tubing/hiking tour, all are very nice. Lovely, helpful staff. Great food. Great pool to relax in during the hot days. Dorms are very cool and comfy. I highly recommend this place, suitable to all types of travelers! :)

Great hostel with everything you need for a stay in the jungle. The food was of Guatemala restaurant standards and not too expensive. So close to Semuc Champey. The Cave Tour the hostel arranges is a great way to spend half a day.

They're building a really nice hostel. The owner seems a little strict, but is definitely interested in improving the property. Social in the evenings - it's a fine place to meet people before everyone heads off in their own directions. The staff is super nice and friendly. Good pool. Definitely do the cave tour.

Greengo’s is a paradise in the jungle. The location and updated property are beautiful. The staff were super fun and enthusiastic (and helpful when I was sick!) and the other travellers were awesome (the scheduled wifi shut-off encourages socializing!). The food was a bit expensive but delicious. Power off at midnight means it’s quiet and prime stargazing material. Nothing but great things to say about this place!

    Fabulous

Out of control! They're sparing no expense growing this place into a literal backpacker resort. Will be interesting to see it in a few years. Everything was on point, the shuttle was waiting for us in Lanquin, the food was good, dorms were cool. Amazing pool & jacuzzi. Laundry overpriced & I prefer an outlet by the bed instead of in the lockers. The staff was great but I'm rating it :{ due to the unprofessionalism and irony of the owner who cant take critical feedback without INSULTING them! LOL

Neat place, a lot of renovations going on to update it. Water actually gets hot for showers, and there is a little security locker beside beds in shared dorms, if you have your own lock. Not soundproof at all between outside and dorms, but didn’t find that a problem. Overall enjoyed the stay here.

    Very Good

Much more of a party place than I was aware of. I would not stay there again as it was very loud until midnight 2 of the 3 nights we stayed. ( the sound from the bar is constant ) The staff was a bit disorganized ( but very friendly) and failed to give a few key points of information about the tours they sold. The place is beautiful if you don’t mind being subjected to whatever music they are playing almost constantly. The location and food were both very good, and the place is very clean.

    Very Good

My experience wasn’t great but that was partly due to choosing the wrong type of hostel. It’s a 20’s party hostel vibe. I had a bad check in experience & 1 staff member held a grudge throughout my whole stay... uncomfortable. Granted other staff members were super nice. My bunk bed was a borderline death trap being 2.5m off the ground without safety rails or easy hand holds to climb to it. The room smelt like damp. My breakfast2go had no cheese (I paid xtra for it) & was full of raw onion 😞
