Convenient location for public transport and close to many of the popular attractions. If you're an early riser, you can get great view of the sunrise and the Golden Gate just around the hostel. Staff are super friendly and helpful in whatever way they can. I'm a stickler for cleanliness and have no complaints whatsoever. Parking right in front but limited to a few spots. Enjoyed this place so much I already plan on coming back.

This is a top-notch hostel! Really the best you can ask for in a city as busting as San Francisco. When I arrived, the front desk was super busy but the two staff members working were adept at multi-tasking and making sure everyone's specific needs were met with a smile. It definitely made me feel welcome. Throughout the weekend there were a few times when my friend and I needed some extra help and the desk attendant went out of their way to help us. Clean place, amazing views.

Great location, easy walking to Golden Gate Bridge and Fisherman's Wharf, very clean, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The upper bunk beds were a little hard to get up and down from (rounded bed frame slats served as the ladder). Restroom access was through the great (community) room, which was occupied at all hours so if your room is located behind it, wear sleepwear you're comfortable doing that in. LOVED the community room. Great Greek yogurt, coffee, granola, big kitchen.

I was there for 4 days just to get away and see San Francisco. Place is inside a national park all the way in the back on the water with quite the view! It connects easily to where many of the bars/restaurants are. There's a nearby supermarket and bit of a shortcut path to the wharf itself to the east and just a short couple miles to the bridge park and path across to the west. The hostel has a Cafe and full sized kitchen. There is even a fireplace in the main common area!

I’ve stayed here twice already on weekend trips to SF and I love it- beautiful views, clean and cozy space, and comfy beds. The ONLY thing I would love to see are outlets next to beds. There was only one outlet for the whole room I stayed in, blocked by a bed. So I had to stay up late at night in the common areas to charge my phone before going to bed. Otherwise, amazing place!

I enjoyed my stay at HI Fisherman’s Wharf. Overall the hostel was clean and tidy, the staff were friendly and helpful, the room was comfortable (8 person female dorm) and the hostel seemed to have all the facilities anybody would need for a brief stay in the city. I enjoyed the food at cafe Franco, and the free breakfast down in the kitchen is great for people saving their money for activities in the city. Easy to get to town on foot or muni, and a nice walk along the bay towards the bridge.

Was a clean hostel in a great and safe location however the staff weren't very friendly or knowledgeable and gave us the wrong information about multiple things.

I read in other reviews that its not easy to add outlets but for 8 beds there were 4 which only two beds had close access to. Easy solution would be powerstrips. Also no lights at the beds. Bathrooms need a renovation and I couldnt stand upright in the shower because the showerhead was so low. Several school classes were there (with corresponding behavior) and most guests were 30+ (a lot even 50+). Didnt really feel like hostelatmosphere to us. Breakfast, security and location were great.
