We’re the only travelers’ accommodation within Fort Mason, a popular stretch of National Park land right on the San Francisco Bay. A licensed concessionaire of the National Park Service, HI San Francisco Fisherman’s Wharf Hostel is housed in a historic building surrounded by park land. Easily walk from the hostel to Fisherman’s Wharf, Pier 39, Crissy Field, the Golden Gate Bridge, the Fort Mason Pavilion and other convention buildings, the Marina District, and multiple bus lines serving neighborhoods and landmarks throughout the city.

This hostel is the most beautiful & safest place to be! It’s definitely a little older, but the view & location make it worth it! And there’s a Lyft bike stall right next to the Safeway that you can use ($1.00 start up + then $.19/min) to go all along the Marina! Definitely check out Palace of Fine Art (10 min bike). Coming from SFO airport, note that the Mission & 16th bus/BART stop isn’t the safest, so be aware of your surroundings or get off at the Montgomery BART stop & take a different bus!

One of the nicest hostels I’ve stayed in. Very clean including the bathrooms, the kitchen was huge and well stocked with cookware. I appreciated the included towel, as well as the shampoo/body wash dispensers in the showers as I’d forgotten mine. Nice location, free nearby parking and close to public transit. My only regret is that I was only staying for one night. Certainly hope to be back.
