We were in the 10 bed dorm. Comfy mattresses!! Windows are open at night onto the street (second floor) like other reviews mentioned but the street was quiet and we slept very well. Breakfast is incredible! Something different and delicious everyday. Hostal is super close to a supermarket for self catering and a short walk from local buses, food and attractions. Social Hostal but not a party Hostal - we made amazing friends easily to explore and dance cumbia.

My friends and I loved our stay. Convenient location, only a 7 ish minute walk from the main square. Lovely and accommodating staff, especially the lovely Mimi who did our laundry and cooked amazing breakfast. Heads up the hot water was a bit hit or miss. Bar that I throughly recommend you stay.

Really nice hostel. Met some cool people to explore the city with. Some of the rooms can be quite noisy at night if situated on the street. Good breakfast included.

Chill hostel with super friendly staff in walking distance from everything :) Hot water in the showers, and a new breakfast every day. There were no lockers in the room, but they had them in the hallway outside. We stayed in a 4 person form, and it was nice and quiet, we didnt hear the noise from the street.

Hostel, people, and staff are helpful, warm, and friendly. The hostel is located a nice enough distance from the centre (15min walk through lovely streets inc. galleries, churches, markets, restaurants etc. en route), allowing you to get your bearings well, be both in and out of the thick of the main town, and explore the city at your own pace. Note: there is no Uber in Oaxaca city like there is in Mexico City. Slightly impractical to have the lockers outside the dorm rooms but all was OK.

Good hostel overall. Nice Mexican breakfast every morning. Very friendly staff who love to help and answer any questions you have. Lots of info on sites and there are hostel run tours which are good.

    Very Good

    17 Mar 2019
All in all pretty okay. A little far out from the center and the breakfast was tasty but not very filling. It doesn’t feel super safe since the dorms are open all day and don’t have a key. Unfortunately the staff was not very knowledgeable and nobody could help us with any of our questions because apparently everybody working there was pretty new. They gave us wrong information and didn’t really seem to care that much to help us.

Ok so you might have read that the French guy working is rude and that part is totally true. Very hippie vibe, not really that clean, only booked one day and went to casa angel and it's so much better in every way
