Welcome to Our Hostel .
Bienvenidos! Hostel Alamo is among the most relaxing hostels in Mendoza's hostel circuit.
Once a family residence, we have renovated this beautiful and spacious home into a modern 14-bedroom hostel, while maintaining the integrity and charm of its original colonial style. The house was built in 1944 by the late architect Daniel Ramos Correa, who has made many significant architectural contributions to Mendoza, including participation in the city's main square, Plaza Independencia, and the Frank Romero Day Ampitheater, where the National Grape Harvest (Vendimia)Celebration is held annually. The lovely enclosed garden, terraces, fireplaces, and numerous windows throughout help to create the positive and cozy environment that is Hostel Alamo.

Ideal Location
Hostel Alamo is conveniently located in the heart of downtown Mendoza, just a few blocks away from the main shopping and dining district. Literally just around the corner you'll find one of the city's newest and largest supermarkets, a bank, internet and telephone cafs, a laundry facility, souvenir shops, and a gas station, just to name a few. By car, we are merely 5 minutes from el Parque San Martn, 5 minutes from the bus terminal and 15 minutes from Mendoza's Francisco Gabrielli Airport (formerly El Plumerillo).
Our Mission . .
Hostel Alamo is owner-operated and together with our bilingual staff, we strive to provide our guests with the highest standard of customer service with a personal touch. We make every effort to maintain a clean, comfortable, and relaxing atmosphere where our guests will always feel welcome and safe.
Join us! . .
We hope you'll stay with us as you discover the natural wonders of Mendoza, Argentina and the rich culture of her people. Whether you wish to sample a Mendocinian Malbec during a tour of one of the city's numerous bodegas, or spend the day in the mountains skiing or trekking, it would be our pleasure to arrange any excursion for you right here at Hostel Alamo. Or if you prefer, relax in our garden while you read a book and soak in some Argentinean sun, prepare an elaborate meal in our kitchen, or just stretch out on our sofa and enjoy a movie from our international DVD collection. However you plan to enjoy yourself in Mendoza, we hope you'll allow Hostel Alamo to be your 'home away from home!' View House Rules

Wonderful, restored villa with good breakfasts, excellent, English speaking staff and good internet. A very special place to stay, either as a place to catch your breath between bus rides, or to use as a base to explore Mendoza. One of the best places I've stayed in 2 1/2 years of travel.

This is an excellent hostel. One minor drawback is the rooms, especially upstairs, tend to get watm during hot weather. There are fans, they help. Location is perfect, and the staff is friendly and helpful. Included breakfast is really good, not just a token gesture. Ocerall, I am very pleased with my stay and recommend the hostel to others.

Loved this hostel- stayed here 5 nights in a twin room with my friend. Great location, lovely lovely staff who are always cheerful and happy to help. Well stocked kitchen, cute pool and outdoor space and friendly other travellers of all ages. Beds are comfy, lockers are big and the building is really beautiful

Great place to stay. Lovely building in a good location. Large room and nice garden at the back of the property with a pool. Unfortunately the pool was being repaired whilst we were there. Staff were fantastic :)

Terrific hostel for solo travellers with great location and a great socisl vibe. Staff was very cheerful and helpful at all times esp the bald guy with the long beard (forgot his name!) Only downside was that the toilets got dirty by the end of the evening as the hostel was full so they probably need more evening cleaners and the kitchen could do with an upgrade on pots and pans. Rest all wonderful! Alteady recommended it to others.

    Very Good

Pros: lovely kitchen/outdoor space, great location, and most off all, staff here is super knowledgeable and helpful; if I stayed here again it would be for the great staff. Cons: showers/bathrooms pretty grimy (staff definitely cleans them, but they don't drain well and are just kind of gross) and dorms get pretty hot at night. There is a fan but it's pretty noisy and windows have no screens. Also, although the dorms have big lockers, there are no locks on the doors.

Old facilities, no atmosphere, moldy shower curtain, no pool like advertised & rude staff (guy w/a beard who works mornings). We asked if there’s cooking oil & was told no & that we couldn’t expect it from them. We don’t expect anything, most hostels understand that backpackers don’t want to carry oil around or buy a new bottle every few days so they spend $2 and have it available in the kitchen for guests. The guy interrupted my explanation and just said “I don’t know” and laughed. Very rude.
