Valladolid is a small and calm Mayan and colonial city of 70.000 inhabitants. It is located in the north centre of the Yucatan Peninsula, only 30 minutes away from the monumental Mayan ruins of Chichn Itz.. It is a good base to rest after visiting the Mayan zone and its authentic cultural expressions. Valladolid and the region around it have some of the deepest and most spectacular natural wells (cenotes) of the Yucatan Peninsula.

An old, large colonial house, is located in Parque La Candelaria, 3 blocks from the bus-station and 2.5 blocks from the Central Park.

In a safe and familiar atmosphere, it is the home that you need to enjoy your vacations calmly. The staff are the owners. The inner patio, with its natural garden and exotic trees, offers a great space for you to cook, eat and have a siesta in the hammocks, next to the birds song.

We provide dormitories and private rooms, a completely equipped kitchen, cable- television, board games, bicycles for rent, uo-to-date tourist information and of course the colonial Parque La Candelaria just in front of the hostel.

Other attractions in and around Valladolid:

In addition to the wonderful archaeological site of Chichn Itz, the ruins of 'Ek Balam', located to 29 km, and 'Cob' to 59km. This hostel was stunning. So colourful and such a jungly vibe in the garden! Lockers and locks included in the rooms, lovely staff, a well equipped kitchen. Comfy hammocks to chill in the garden and a central location

Awesome hostel. The kitchen is huge, fully equiped. There are several bathrooms and toilets which are spacious and clean. The staff are very warm and they are always eager to help and give recommendations. There are several spacious areas to chill and the breakfast is amazing. Highly recommended.

Genuinely the coolest hostel I’ve stayed in. The jungle-like outdoor/communal area is huge and creates a great social environment to meet people. The staff were friendly and the people staying were even friendlier. There’s good facilities and the breakfast in the morning cooked by two little Mexican ladies is amazing. The location is great and you can hire bikes for 100 pesos to ride to the cenotes. Cleanliness isn’t perfect and you will need mosquito repellent, but don’t let that put you off.

The hostel itself and the common areas are really nice. The breakfast was amazing and the staff friendly and helpful. No plugs on top bunk beds and no privacy with curtains or something similar though. Also some top bunks are very close to the aircon leaving people freezing at night.

We only stayed a night here on the way from merida to holbox, but it was lovely. The free breakfast, freshly made pancakes, was a nice change. Comfortable beds, and an amazing garden social area. AC was cranked up too high so it was a cold night's sleep. But besides that, staff were really helpful, we arrived quite late and they handled it well.

Bike rental is available. A beautiful garden and chill-out space. Yummy breakfast. TV lounge/library. There are bathrooms "outside," as well as inside the main part of the hostel, and seem to be sufficient. Explore a bit as it is a large facility. The garden area with hammocks is a cool spot to relax, and the kitchen as several large areas with tables and chairs, with public access to the facilities apart from breakfast time. It is a live and let-live lodging experience, which I highly recommend

    Very Good

It’s an older hostel so the rooms / bunks are basic, but it’s clean and has a little charm. Good central location and took care with security (locking the front gate). Small common area inside so easy to meet people and staff were friendly.
