Valladolid is a small and calm Mayan and colonial city of 70.000 inhabitants. It is located in the north centre of the Yucatan Peninsula, only 30 minutes away from the monumental Mayan ruins of Chichn Itz.. It is a good base to rest after visiting the Mayan zone and its authentic cultural expressions. Valladolid and the region around it have some of the deepest and most spectacular natural wells (cenotes) of the Yucatan Peninsula.

An old, large colonial house, is located in Parque La Candelaria, 3 blocks from the bus-station and 2.5 blocks from the Central Park.

In a safe and familiar atmosphere, it is the home that you need to enjoy your vacations calmly. The staff are the owners. The inner patio, with its natural garden and exotic trees, offers a great space for you to cook, eat and have a siesta in the hammocks, next to the birds song.

We provide dormitories and private rooms, a completely equipped kitchen, cable- television, board games, bicycles for rent, uo-to-date tourist information and of course the colonial Parque La Candelaria just in front of the hostel.

Other attractions in and around Valladolid:

In addition to the wonderful archaeological site of Chichn Itz, the ruins of 'Ek Balam', located to 29 km, and 'Cob' to 59km. Cenotes (underground rivers in caves): 'Dzitnup', to 20 minutes by bicycle, 'Samul' to 150 mts of the Dzitnup, and 'Zac' to 4 blocks from the Hostel. Grottos: Balankanche Cave, to 34 km, close to Chichn Itz. Franciscan Convent of San Bernardino de Siena, 500 years of antiquity and constructed on the vault of a cenote, located to 7 blocks from the Hostel. Colonial Churches: San Servacio, Santa Lucia, Santa Ana, San Juan and La Candelaria. San Roque Museum, in downtown, 3.5 blocks from the Hostel. Great place in the heart of Valladolid! Super cozy and cool atmosphere. My only issue was that I'm a solo traveler and that everyone there was in a group/a couple, so it was a little difficult to make friends. Otherwise, it was really great overall!

Great hostel and really friendly & helpful staff! The outdoor section is cute with tables and hammocks, but note that the bathroom shower and sink are also outside the building so it can sometimes be awkward to brush your teeth while someone is sitting at a table behind you. The hot water also did not work or would run out quickly when it did. Aside from this it was a really good hostel located close to the main square

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this little hostel. This place is family owned for multiple generations now and it feels like home. The staff and owner were great and always helpful and smiling. The bikes you could rent were in top condition ms the facilities great. The dorms are basic but it's sufficient and the vast outside area is incredible. Breakfast was delicious and the information provided a huge help. I'd stay again. It's a great place from which to explore Valladolid.

Very nice hotel at the heart of the city. Easy to walk everywhere from there. The bus station is very close too. Facilities like showers and toilet are very simple but convenient. It is not a luxury place, but everything is done with taste and the breakfast is really worth the price. I will definitely go back there!

    Very Good

This hostel is taking Covid seriously so props to them, but it also means it’s kind of a ghost town at limited capacity at the moment, just FYI. I assume that when more filled the place is fun and great. It’s well thought out and big. My only other complaint was that the room I stayed in was not mosquito proof so I had a miserable night of no sleep/getting bitten. Big family room upstairs.

    Very Good

Location was very central, close to bus station and collectivos, can walk to cenote zaci.. however lots of ants and slugs and other insects suppose that’s a given as there’s lots of greenery however we had a private room and made sure the door was always shut yet we still got bitten at night...breakfast was included tho and was very good both mornings. Overall a good stay for Valladolid maybe just wear long pants??
