Summary of traveller reviews

Hostel Trastevere in Rome offers a great location, with many guests appreciating its proximity to public transport and the lively Trastevere neighbourhood. While some recent reviews mention issues with cleanliness and a lack of basic amenities like soap and functioning locks, the staff are often described as friendly and helpful. It's a suitable option for budget travellers seeking a central base.

The staff were absolutely lovely, but unfortunately the facilities are quite old and dated, with lots of mould in the shower cabins and lots of flooding when showering. Also the lights in the bathroom are motion detected however this means that you have to get out of the shower every 30 seconds to move your hand towards the motion sensor to light the lights back on, which is not great in the middle of the night. Also, the vending machine took some of our money and didn’t give us a drink

The Hostel was quite dirty. The room was fine to sleep in and the aircon was great but the balcony was disgusting and unusable. Also as a young man I found the age of guests to be roughly around 30 years plus. The bathroom was filthy, the showers didn’t drain until a few minutes after your shower and the bathroom ran out of toilet paper every day. As well as this the code for the room was 8 digits which was unnecessarily long and hard to remember. If you want a cheap and quick stay it’s ok.

Stayed one night. Very clean and modern. Staff was helpful and I enjoyed the en-suite bathroom in the four person dorms. Would return
