    Superb

Hotel Van Gogh definitely has more of a hotel vibe than a hostel vibe. The location is great if you want to visit museums and high street shops. However, it is a little bit of a step away from the city itself (about a good mile or so walk). You had to pay for breakfast which was a bit of a drag, and there were no cooking areas for backpackers save a kettle and microwave. But, there was fridge space available. They give you a towel which is grand. The staff is great too.

    Fabulous

Everything was really good. The staff are friendly and it room was super clean. The hostel is so central and you can walk to museums or beautiful cafes. But I think with so many people in one room the prices were high. Maybe it's just a post_Covid thing... But overall it was a pleasant experience.

I think I set my expectations too high for this hostel, however, it got the job done right.

    Fabulous

This hotel is good, although a little pricey for what you get. The location is amazing for the Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh Museum, but quite a trek from the train station and other main streets. The staff who works the desk in the morning is amazing! The one who works at night seemed a little grumpy. Definitely pay the €10 for their breakfast, great value!

    Fabulous

This place is fantastic if you are trying to hit a lot of museums—they are literally right across the street. It’s a little far from central station and the center of town though. The neighborhood is super cute and quiet, if you are looking for a place to rest this is for you. For more party style accommodations, I would look for something closer to the red light district. Staff is super friendly!

It was a great experience, most of the staff were very attentive and pleasant. They were patient and gave me tips on where I could visit. I only had a problem with the lock on my bedroom door, otherwise everything was very pleasant.

    Good

Great location, clean rooms, good bathroom. No alcohol and smoking, therefore not a very interactive hostel for mingling and getting to know other travelers. No lockbox in the room for your luggage, just a small safe for small valuables. Staff was polite, but not friendly. Breakfast not included, separate price (10-12 euros).

Bit of a weird vibe in the hostel and staff weren't too friendly. I'd say it's a good place to stay if you want to be close to the museums and don't care too much about the social side of hostels.

The staff were very rude. The guy from the morning shift was very impolite. If you don't like to talk with people, don't work in a hostel full of tourists. We are in a good mood, and they were with a bad energy. Also, another girl from my room felt the same way. The girl from the afternoon shift barely answered any question with more than three words. Even if the hostel is nice and well located, it is not worth to go if the people and atmosphere is bad.
