With our neutral-toned furniture and whitewashed walls, Hub Lisbon Patio Hostel is a Scandi-inspired haven in Portugal's capital. Guests love our oversized hammock, which overlooks the outdoor courtyard and is a fun spot to – quite literally – hang out with new friends. You can watch films out on the patio with popcorn cooked up in the kitchen or get your group involved in a BBQ evening. The fun doesn't stop indoors either, with foosball, PlayStation and a bar to check out inside.

We're only a 13-minute walk from the central Praça Marquês de Pombal roundabout and less than 2 minutes on foot from Picoas metro station. You can get here from Lisbon Portela Airport on the red line in 40 minutes. The boutiques of Avenida da Liberdade are easy to reach in about 17 minutes on foot. Our staff know all the great local restaurants, so it's worth getting their advice if you want to try some typical Portuguese dishes.

Rooms and Dorms

We've got private double rooms and mixed, female- and male-only dorms. Most have access to shared bathrooms, but there's one dorm with an en-suite. You'll have free bedding on your bunk, a locker for your backpack and three plug sockets so you can charge your camera, phone and laptop at the same time. Many of our beds have curtains for added privacy.

Extras and activities

We have common spaces and a dining area where you can eat your free continental breakfast each morning. Our Wi-Fi's free too – handy for booking an Uber (super cheap in Portugal) to take you to Belem for one of Lisbon's best custard tarts. For snacks closer to home, head to our own café or raid the vending machines. Once you're fuelled up on tasty treats, hire a bike from us and explore the riverfront. No worries if you work up a sweat: our air con will cool you down nicely when you get back.

Fantastic place to stay in Lisbon, if you are on budget. Very clean and a big kitchen cum dining area. Loved my stay here and in Lisbon. I would gladly recommend it to my friends.

Por mais hosteis com essa estrutura. Tudo muito bom, muito limpo, muito novo. Área externa super agradável, quarto bem confortável, chuveiro melhor que o da minha casa.

Everything was great until my check-out. I had talked to one of the receptionists about a very early flight, and she told me the front desk was 24/7 and that they could call a taxi for me since public transportation wouldn't be open. I went to an empty desk at 3:50am, I waited for 15 min with no way to contact them. I just left without receiving my security deposit back and had to figure out the taxi myself (would've figured out transportation earlier if she didn't tell me they would help).

Nice room (we booked a private double room), nice chill common area. Free breakfast (coffee, toast, cereal, pastries) was good. Hostel is a little far from city center but easily accessible by a short metro ride. Surfing through the hostel was also a great experience. Staff were very friendly and always available.

Clean hostel, comfy bed. Room was super hot and stuffy but adequate. The breakfast was a good addition. Didn't really have a hostel vibe. Lots of kids running around at breakfast. Cheap and cheerful 👍

The bunk bed ladders are so so painful to climb and the pillows are extremely thin. Other than that, it’s an awesome hostel and the staff are awesome. Location wasn’t as good as we thought it would be. We needed ubers every day.

Hostel staff weren’t super helpful and didn’t really seem to want to help or be there which was a massive shame. Hostel common area was nice however the rooms weren’t amazing the rods on the curtains would fall down etc, quite cramped. Cleaning staff were quite rude to us on several occasions (kicking us out of the bathroom to clean, death staring in corridor). Location was good but you had to walk about 30 mins to get to the centre of Lisbon, just be aware. Quite close to nice lookout.
