Clean, new, nice atmosphere. Nice blinds covering all beds gives some sense of privacy. Nicely designed common space, with many paintings of wild animals giving nice African "taste". Super friendly staff ;) P. S. Serving very qualitive coffee in the cafe in front.

Overall a really pleasant stay at Kumba. It’s a cafe with a hostel side so it has everything you need and great coffee! Staff were really lovely, the place was spotlessly clean and it was really nice having a little pod to sleep in. There were a lot of youngish locals that hung out and studied in the cafe giving it quite a unique vibe.

Kumba is a really cute hostel with laid back hipster vibes. It’s also a coffee shop, and a bar at night where lots of locals come to hangout. I loved the pod beds—they were huge and gave you lots of privacy. My only concern was that our light was out in our room the entire 4 days I was there so it was extremely dark and the staff said they would fix it each Day and never did. Our AC was also broken so it got very hot in the evenings in our room.

Kumba is a new hostel with nice facilities. I like the pod style beds and the bathrooms are clean. Most of the staff members are nice but a couple were a little condescending when you asked them questions

Really beautiful hostel! Love the pod beds although the top bunks and lockets a a bit inconvenient. The staff are lovely and all the common areas are welcoming, love that they have a little cafe by the reception with good coffee! Easy bus stop outside to get to the main bus station and only a short work to the beach and into the old town. Would definitely stay again!

Kumba is a beautiful hostel located in a nice area of town with close access to the beach. The staff are really friendly and helpful; they will even book you tours with their associated tour company if you’re interested. Unfortunately, security is slightly lagging as the rooms do not have locks on them. There are lockers in each room for your belongings, but the door to the room itself does not lock.

    Very Good

    03 Oct 2019
Overall the hostel was good and value for money. The comunal areas and cafe were nice and had a good vibe good for meeting other travellers. The dorm rooms have little roller blinds for privacy and lockers for luggage. My female only dorm didn't have a lock on the door and on two seperate occasions a man walked unannounced into the room. Also the bathroom door kept sticking and the noise from the cafe and the kitchen travelled quite far. There were several supermarkets and cafes close by.
