Property Description

Stay in downtown Boston aboard the schooner LIBERTY CLIPPER on our Tall Ship Overnights. A unique experience. Enjoy the best rates in town, while staying in the historic waterfront district of Boston, a block from the North End and Faneuil Hall / Quincy Market.

You'll stay on a working tall ship in one of our cabins. We only make a few cabins available each day and they go quickly. All cabins on the Liberty Clipper (available June through mid September) are double-bunk style and feature a skylight, hot/cold water running sink and are paneled in yellow pine to provide an authentic tall ship experience. Our six cabins share three heads (bathrooms) and three showers which are spaced evenly throughout the ship.

Linens and towels are provided .

We are a working schooner, so while the ship is out sailing, you'll have your day free to explore the city ashore (unless you sign up for the harbor cruise that's out sailing at that time). Most days the ship is out sailing from 10:30 AM to 8:00 PM, however, some days may start earlier or go later with either private charters or special events.

Checkout is by 10 AM each day.

PLEASE NOTE: Our published rates do not include taxes. The Boston Hotel Tax will be added to the cost of your reservation when the Liberty completes your booking.

After you book your reservation through Hostel World, The Liberty Fleet will finalize your reservation and email you a receipt for your completed booking. Please note that after you complete your booking through Liberty Fleet, your Tall Ship Overnights reservation becomes non-refundable.

Access to the vessel: The LIBERTY CLIPPER is a working ship that regularly conduct both public and private sailing events in Boston Harbor. You will not have access to your cabin (room) aboard the ship while a trip is in progress. If the ship is hosting a public sailing event, you may book a ticket for that cruise and stay aboard for the sail (30% discount available excluding black-out dates and special events). In the event of a private charter or if you do not purchase a ticket for a public sail, you will need to stay ashore during the cruise. When you check-in we will provide you with the ship's schedule for the day. The ship typically offers three two-hour sails from 10:30AM until 8:00pm each day, however, our schedule may start earlier or go later and is subject to change.

Check-In time: You may check in anytime between 10:00am and 5:00pm at the Liberty Fleet Office at 67 Long Wharf. Please do NOT proceed directly to the vessel as you must receive instructions at the office prior to boarding. You may leave your bags at the ship's office upon check-in and a crew-member will bring them to your cabin for you. NOTE: We cannot accommodate late check-ins. If you cannot arrive before 5pm on your check-in day, you will not be able to stay on the ship that night, please contact us before you book if you have any questions on this policy.

Check-Out time: Check out time will be 10:00am and may be sooner in the event of a scheduled public sail or private charter.

Refund/Rescheduling Policy: Non-Refundable, cannot be rescheduled. Once purchased, reservations cannot be refunded and cannot be rescheduled. You space has been guaranteed.

Cancellation by Company: Schooner Liberty Clipper, Inc. reserves the right to cancel any booking in the event of a private charter. If the Company cancels your booking for a private charter only, you may reschedule to another comparable time or receive a refund.

Other policies: Children: Minimum age for lodging aboard the Liberty Clipper is 8 years old. Parents must accompany children at all times while aboard the vessel. Rain or Shine: You may not cancel your reservation for inclement weather. View House Rules

Overall it was an interesting experience and beautiful scenery surrounding the ship. The location was Prime, it was right around everything that's going on in the middle of Boston. I felt a little rushed when I first got there because I couldn't get right on the ship I couldn't actually check in until 8:30 p.m. and I just wanted to change my clothes, they let me on for 20 minutes to do so. The room was cozy and I was worried about temperature, but the fans were enough to keep the room cool.

The boat is an awesome "bucket list" place to stay. The crew was very friendly and helpful, and you really couldn't beat the location. My only drawback was how hot and humid it sometimes got in the boat, which sometimes affected how well I could sleep. Each cabin only had two outlets and the only ventilation source was from two small clip-on fans that used the only two outlets in the cabin. I recommend bringing a power bank if you'll need more than two outlets.

This place is really simple, but right at Boston Harbor, beautiful location. And right by a subway stop. It is not for everyone. Me and my wife had a small cabin with private bath and shower. We had to leave at about 9 am and couldn't return until 8 pm, or even later on Saturday night. But it is not every day that you get to sleep in a tall ship sailboat. The crew was friendly young people.

    Very Good

The dream was better than reality. The pros of this stay were the staff, the experience of sleeping on a boat, and the central location of the boat; you can also come and go as you like after 8pm. The cons however are significant: the cabins (even the ones far from the shower/toilet) smell like port-a-potties, and you won't have access to the cabin outside of 8pm-9:30am (they do hold your bags till then and put them in your bunk). Ultimately its a bit too expensive for the quality and time.
