About

We are a small, cosy hostel style short term rental accommodations. We call ourselves 'Boston Homestel' because we provide a home for travellers and since we're small, we'll feel like a community. Home, hostel, and community is our motto, and we strive to be the friendliest place in Boston to relax and enjoy the city with other travellers. We offer private rooms and manageable dorm rooms of just 4, 3 or 2 people in mixed and female-only dorms. Your experience with us will be personal, unlike larger hostels. We'll know you by first name, even if you only stay 1 night. We like to have fun, but this is not a party house, so we ask our guests to be mature and responsible.

We are located near the Boston train red line and the city centre is 3 stops from us. We're also located walking distance to the South Boston beach. Yes! The beach is swimmable, you wouldn't expect that in the city but it does exist! Our property is located on a quiet residential street, but a short distance to the main street and the public metro (the T, as it's called in Boston). We're near a swimmable beach in South Boston and Vietnamese town.

We offer private rooms and manageable dorm rooms of just 4, 3 or 2 people in mixed and female-only dorms. Your experience with us will be personal, unlike larger hostels. We provide linens, a small blanket and a pillow. Lockers available. Towels available upon request(2USD) and earplugs(1usd). Self check in available. Microwave and refrigerator available.

The hostel needs significant repairs. The shared areas were clean but the individual rooms were not. I think the hostel needs more staff to run efficiently and absolutely needs a handyman/plumber/carpenter. It looks like the owners personally rigged the place without getting permits from the city and without hiring a professional.

I only stayed one night, but it was a pleasant stay overall (I was the only one in the dorm). It lives up to its name, since it's a family home converted into a hostel. It has a kind of cozy vibe, though with some limits like one bathroom per floor. The manager was polite and considerate. It seems to cater to long-term tenants, some were super loud in the hallway with their video calls at 5AM. A big plus for not raising prices during marathon weekend, might be a great budget option for runners.

Affordable, modest hostel in a regular neighborhood. I thought the common areas were cozy but clean and the other guests pleasant and polite. The atmosphere is peaceful and it's located right on a T stop. The one problem we had was a near lockout after a night on the town. We were not emailed the outside code and would have been locked out all night if not for a sleepy guest walking by the door and recognizing us. There was no recourse in the moment- distressing but all's well that ends well.
