Hostelworld says

The staff of the Lisboa Central Hostel have an extremely high rating on Hostelworld, no doubt due to their friendliness and vast knowledge of Lisbon. They also make free soup every day as well as free milkshakes on Mondays, while one Hostelworld user said the free breakfast of fruit pancakes was the 'icing on the cake' of a 'faultless' stay. We like that they offer lots of little extras to their guests, from cheap sangria and beer to pub crawls and free popcorn on movie nights.

Friendly, sociable atmosphere where quiet hours are respected. Staff are excellent - kind, welcoming and helpful. Beds are large and very private, each fitted with curtains and a reading light, socket and fan. Breakfast is fruits, spreads, bread, pancakes and there are often little bites to eat like tapas or milkshakes, depending on the day. I loved that this hostel is big enough to feel spacious and many different bathrooms and communal areas, yet still had that cosy small hostel feel :)

A very clean and friendly hostel perfect for a traveller that may want to go out and party but also has the option of staying in and chilling. The hostel facilities were very clean and well looked after. The free breakfast was one of the better ones I've had. A very good variety offered. Staff were friendly and happy to join in with drinks but were also very helpful and knew a lot about the area and things to do :)

In my top 3 hostals around the world, this place is very well located and the staff is extra cool. Pancakes in the morning and soup in the evening make this place a sure bet. I had a private room and it was almost like a hotel. I highly recommend.

Everything one wants. Friendly helpful staff always available. After a few days stay they replenish what you need such as bathroom tissue or clean towels. They can provide means for sight seeing or give good advice. They provide keys for hostel entry, room, and locker. Very good breakfast is provided. Access to kitchen and laundry is there. (You pay to do laundry). There is a community fridge, and lots of living rooms to hang out in. It felt hotel-like. Perfect for us.

Stayed here as a solo traveller and it was great. Rooms are spacious, beds are comfy and the staff is fantastic. Ines and Thiago really helped me out. The only thing I would ask them to improve is the cleanliness and the social aspect.

I've had a great in this Hostel. Here is a summary: -------- Pros --------- - Friendly staff. They really seem to care about their guests. - Food in, almost, all afternoons (soup and sandwiches). Mainly made by a guy who was volunteer at the hostel (kind of a student internship). - Private beds and big lockers in the room. - Great location. -------- Cons ---------- - Acceptable to poor breakfast

Lisboa Central Hostel says

We're a small hostel that likes to treat every guest as part of our family. The Portuguese are known for their hospitality so we treat them according to Portuguese traditions, call them by their names and try to make them feel at home. I think that someone that's travelling likes to feel welcomed and likes to find a home-like atmosphere that makes them feel comfortable. We have daily activities to encourage interaction amongst the guests - things like sangria happy hour to some liquor, wine and Portuguese food tastings, movie nights, milkshakes for the hot days, hot drinks for the cooler days, and cupcakes and soups. Plus there's movies, cards, video games and pub crawls. It's pretty entertaining around here.
We're in Marques de Pombal, the centre of the city, a few minutes away from downtown and the historic area, and a short bus ride from Belem and metro trip from Nation's Park. When people ask me what they should do here, I usually say that Lisbon is a city for walkers - its typical neighbourhoods are inviting for long walks and every day you discover something new.
