Property Description

Part of a 250 years old building, in a typical Lisbon house from the 18th century, Lisbon Calling Hostel is where you'll find out how it really feels living as a 'lisboeta'.

We're all about 'fit to size'! Standard is not our thing, so we created a hostel like our own home, where all of you 'big feet' out there can sleep in huge, tailor-made wooden bunk-beds and raised sleeping platforms with views to the church square.

If you are looking for romance and something exclusive or deluxe, stay in the themed double rooms, which are in a separate section of the building and almost akin to the experience of having your own apartment in Lisbon.

The kitchen areas are social spaces where you can use the fridge, cook lunch or dinner for no extra costs. Feels like you are visiting a friends or relatives home.

The free wi-fi is excellent and the super-staff has lots of great tips to make the most of your stay.

Brilliantly located in the heart of Old Lisbon, we are five minutes walking distance for night life at Cais do Sodre or Bairro Alto and day trips around Bica, miradouro de Sta. Catarina (known as Adamastor), Chiado and Alfama - turns it into a great place to be in Lisbon. Just ask the crew what to do! View House Rules

Small, cozy hostel with a perfect location and nice staff. Only drawback I would say is the small bathrooms but the rest was pretty nice. Would recommend and stay again!

This hostel is located in an apartment building in the heart of Lisbon. The location is incredible. We walked the entire city from our hostel. It is surrounded by many yummy restaurants, bakeries, and not far from the famous Pink Street! This hostel does have quiet hours after 11:30pm, which was a new experience for me. Overall, very clean and the staff was super accommodating.

Although almost impossible to find, it's a lovely hostel. The beds are big and the layout and decor is beautiful. Breakfast included simple but all you need, majority of the staff very friendly and happy to help esp, the guys in night shifts.

Really friendly staff, especially a young person called Maria (I think) working behind the desk.

The hostel's physical presence is its biggest strength. Aesthetically, it feels like a cool friend's condo, with vintage movie posters and brick kitchen; location-wise, it's ideal for the party crowd and for the quiet-night-in crowd (tip: stay in the six-person room) AND is a two-minute walk to Cais do Sodre's metro stop and the ferries (take one to Cacilhas). The staff spoke many languages, including an effective English, and were always on hand for help or a chat about recommendations.

    Very Good

    29 Mar 2019
Lisbon Calling is unique because you feel as if you’re staying a home but during our stay that was often it’s downfall. The room are on top of each other and it’s very loud if one person gets up. The rooms are clean but there are only 2 showers and 2 toliets for the entire hostel. We were left buzzing the doorbell 5 times before someone on the staff answered. The rooms have no type of locking system other than a locker so anyone can walk into the room at anytime. The staff & breakfast was nice.

This hostel is a fine place to stay; not much wrong with it, nothing special either. The location is very central, though quite noisy at night. The double rooms are very light and spacious, but are in a separate part of the hostel, which feels a bit isolated. Also; only 1 bathroom for 7 rooms.
