Hostelworld says

We like that the recently-opened Lisbon Destination Hostel is located in Rossio train station, an ornate Romantic building of open spaces, high ceilings and big windows. Hostelworld visitors continually praise the 'informative, enthusiastic and very helpful' staff serving 'cheap delicious meals', pancake breakfast and 'quite a lot of free guided tours'. One Hostelworld users said this hostel 'will make your travel even more enjoyable, because the atmosphere you breathe in...makes you feel [at] home and it's like a big family'. Trains to Sintra leave from Rossio station and our guests assure us they 'never once heard a train' during their stay.

Property Description

Formerly called Rossio Patio Hostel, we offer the perfect location, great staff and an impressively high-standard hostel.

You know those most important landmarks that are drawn on maps? We’re one of them. We are situated right in the city’s most important square, Rossio, Lisbon’s “living room”.
Everything worth seeing is walking distance, although it will be hard to leave the hostel, with the cinema room, the free pool table and the bar that’s open every evening.

In July of 2011, smack in the heart of downtown Lisbon, a new hostel was born. It could be just another hostel, except it's not. Housed in one of Lisbon's most beautiful and renowned buildings - the Rossio Railway Station - an undisputed icon of late XIX Century Romantic architecture (and which has recently undergone a profound facelift), Lisbon Destination Hostel is perched around a winter garden, where light filters down from the rooftop, harmoniously flooding the patio and creating an ambiance that is both tranquil and upbeat.

We had planned on catering to a specific target, only to realize later that we didn't have to. We're confident that, between the ample first floor bedrooms (sleeping four to six people) with large windows overlooking the historic city, and the double rooms one floor up which peer out over the winter garden, you - whomever you may be - will find your niche.

And if all this weren't enough, please note that, from our doorstep, you can take the train to the town of Sintra, a UNESCO World Heritage Site just 20 minutes ride away. Once you get there, you'll understand why.

Through we have activities every night, we are not a party Hostel, and after 0.00h you can always continue the party in the local pubs nearby. :)

Guests of all ages are welcome. Minors may only stay if you book a complete dormitory or a private room.

I love, love, loved this hostel!! Great breakfast, cool atmosphere, friendly staff and plenty of stuff going on!! As a solo traveller, there was lots of opportunities for me to meet people! Located in the train station, it is centrally located and close to a metro station as well. I certainly recommend staying here!

Loved it. Best staff. Chilled communal, area with hammocks. Good breakfast. Ideal location. Downside to female dorm is you need earplugs as door is heavy and sticks and random late night groups make noise ie girls at 2am showering and blasting hairdryers - a wee bit inconsiderate ... but otherwise an absolute oasis and perfectly situated. Slept badly and felt as if hadn’t slept but beds so good I woke refreshed- no idea how!!! Would definitely go again.

Amazing Hostel, Very friendly staff, extremely good location and it does worth the value. The toilets are relatively clean, the showers sometimes aren't hot and are quite tricky to get it working, the rooms are clean and the space is cosy. Although I've noticed a thing that can be a big issue. I couldn't find my card to open my locker (which is a key), so I decided to give it a try with my friend's own locker card and it just opened. It worried me quite a bit.Besides that the Hostel is great.

The bathrooms and the toilets weren't clean and the atmosphere in the hostel was a bit strange. Everybody was constantly on their phones, people weren't talking much to each other. The location is great. The staff is helpfull. But I think the people/bathroom/toilet ratio is off. That is why the toilet and bathrooms don't feel clean. The locker system in the bedrooms is awesome.

Lisbon Destination Hostel says

Being situated inside of one of the central Lisbon stations makes our hostel the perfect place for people that always want to be in the middle of everything happening. You can easily access all the points of interest of Lisbon and you have bars, malls, museums just around the corner. Being in a national monument at the same time makes the place especially charming. Every guest is really excited by the idea of staying in a train station. It's amazing to write to your mum, 'Hey, I'm ok, I'm sleeping in the train station in Lisbon!'
From the first sight you're getting impressed by the beauty and style, but then once you get inside you also get the special care and our extremely homey atmosphere. There\'re many spontaneous events happening, like celebrating one's birthday or just inventing new games.
I think every visitor must experience walking through Lisbon's seven hills (I'm really sure there's more than seven). Nothing can compare with this sweet pain in muscles and amazement in the mind from all the views you get from looking over the beautiful city of Lisbon! To have it extremely fun we advise you to join our free walking tour.
Our hostel is perfect for anyone; party guys will find Bairro Alto in just three minutes' walking distance, history lovers will appreciate the neighborhood of museums, galleries and monuments and shopoholics will find malls and small local designer stores.
