Hostelworld says

We like that the recently-opened Lisbon Destination Hostel is located in Rossio train station, an ornate Romantic building of open spaces, high ceilings and big windows. Hostelworld visitors continually praise the 'informative, enthusiastic and very helpful' staff serving 'cheap delicious meals', pancake breakfast and 'quite a lot of free guided tours'. One Hostelworld users said this hostel 'will make your travel even more enjoyable, because the atmosphere you breathe in...makes you feel [at] home and it's like a big family'. Trains to Sintra leave from Rossio station and our guests assure us they 'never once heard a train' during their stay.

Property Description

Lisbon Destination Hostel is located *INSIDE* one of the most iconic buildings in Lisbon, The Rossio Train Station. With access through the main entrance just follow the escalators or the elevators and we are on the 2nd floor.

Do you know those most important landmarks that are drawn on maps? We’re one of them. We are situated right in the city’s most important square, Rossio, Lisbon’s “living room”. It could be just another hostel, except it's not. Housed in one of Lisbon's most beautiful and renowned buildings - the Rossio Railway Station - an undisputed icon of late XIX Century Romantic architecture (and which has recently undergone a profound facelift), Lisbon Destination Hostel is perched around a winter garden, where light filters down from the rooftop, harmoniously flooding the patio and creating an ambiance that is both tranquil and upbeat. Everything worth seeing is walking distance, Alfama, Chiado, Baixa, Bairro Alto and Cais do Sodré where you can find many pubs and parties around, although it might be hard to leave the hostel, with movie nights, pool table, ping-pong, card games, twister, badminton and the bar that’s open every day from 9 am to midnight.
And if all this weren't enough, please note that, from our doorstep, you can take the train to the town of Sintra, a UNESCO World Heritage Site just a ride away. Once you get there, you'll understand why.

Every morning you'll find the breakfast being served in the kitchen with many options from vegetarian to omnivore.

Oh, and did we forgot to mention there are FREE drinks every evening and FREE Walking Tours (based on tips)?!

We offer the perfect location, great staff, and an impressively high-standard hostel.

Between the ample first floor dorms with large windows overlooking the historic city and the double rooms on the second floor with a view of our winter garden, we're confident that you'll have a great experience!

We offer a variety of tours and activities, from a Fado Tour to Pub Crawl, with special offers to our guests.

Guests of all ages are welcome. Minors may only stay if you book a complete dormitory or a private room. View House Rules

Probably the best hostel I've ever stayed in! The amenities all work and are clean, the private room I was in was great, the entertainment facilities are great, the location is phenomenal, but most of all the staff and community are absolutely brilliant. Everyone speaks fluent English if you need it and is incredibly friendly and helpful. I really cannot say enough good things about this place. Unfortunately I'm terrible with names but Renata and Murillo are two I remember and they were awesome.

I had a great time staying at this hostel! The staff was very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. I always felt safe in the space which is very important to me as a solo female traveler and the facilities were kept very clean. The showers had hot water, there is a bar on sight with coffee and drinks, a spacious kitchen and the best part is that they offer lots of activities such as pub crawls, historical tours and free walking tours. I would definitely recommend!

Really unique hostel with an amazing atmosphere. The common area has high ceilings, lots of natural light and is filled with plants. The staff go out of their way to make your stay special. Shout-out to Ricardo, Moody, Renata, Derrick and Daniel. They are all amazing. The tours and activities available are excellent and the common areas are social, making it easy to make new friends.

Seriously impressed with this hostel - perhaps the best on paper I've ever stayed in. The entire hostel is designed with guests in mind and the communal area is beautiful and covered in plants. Very clean, great security, excellent location and amazing staff. I truly could not ask for anything more, and I'll definitely be back.

I was pleasantly surprised by my stay. The staff were all super friendly, helpful, and welcoming. They had lots of suggestions for things to do not just in Lisbon, but throughout Portugal. The hostel itself was very clean. Even the shared bathroom area. When I come back to Lisbon, I’ll stay here again.

The staff are exceedingly hospitable. They have a smal public cafe/bar as well as serving dinners and free breakfast. Big communal kitchen/eating area, chill out spaces, sofas. Ping pong/badminton/beer pong/pool table. The showers are easy to use, but there's only one toilet for the big dorms, more toilets in some rooms? They have started a more party atmosphere recently and play music until I think 11, then they move people to the cafe to reduce noise. Central location. Warm temperature.

Lisbon Destination Hostel says

Being situated inside of one of the central Lisbon stations makes our hostel the perfect place for people that always want to be in the middle of everything happening. You can easily access all the points of interest of Lisbon and you have bars, malls, museums just around the corner. Being in a national monument at the same time makes the place especially charming. Every guest is really excited by the idea of staying in a train station. It's amazing to write to your mum, 'Hey, I'm ok, I'm sleeping in the train station in Lisbon!'
From the first sight you're getting impressed by the beauty and style, but then once you get inside you also get the special care and our extremely homey atmosphere. There\'re many spontaneous events happening, like celebrating one's birthday or just inventing new games.
I think every visitor must experience walking through Lisbon's seven hills (I'm really sure there's more than seven). Nothing can compare with this sweet pain in muscles and amazement in the mind from all the views you get from looking over the beautiful city of Lisbon! To have it extremely fun we advise you to join our free walking tour.
Our hostel is perfect for anyone; party guys will find Bairro Alto in just three minutes' walking distance, history lovers will appreciate the neighborhood of museums, galleries and monuments and shopoholics will find malls and small local designer stores.
