Hostelworld says

We like that the recently-opened Lisbon Destination Hostel is located in Rossio train station, an ornate Romantic building of open spaces, high ceilings and big windows. Hostelworld visitors continually praise the 'informative, enthusiastic and very helpful' staff serving 'cheap delicious meals', pancake breakfast and 'quite a lot of free guided tours'. One Hostelworld users said this hostel 'will make your travel even more enjoyable, because the atmosphere you breathe in...makes you feel [at] home and it's like a big family'. Trains to Sintra leave from Rossio station and our guests assure us they 'never once heard a train' during their stay.

Property Description

Formerly called Rossio Patio Hostel, we offer the perfect location, great staff and an impressively high-standard hostel.

You know those most important landmarks that are drawn on maps? We’re one of them. We are situated right in the city’s most important square, Rossio, Lisbon’s “living room”.
Everything worth seeing is walking distance, although it will be hard to leave the hostel, with the cinema room, the free pool table and the bar that’s open every evening.

In July of 2011, smack in the heart of downtown Lisbon, a new hostel was born. It could be just another hostel, except it's not. Housed in one of Lisbon's most beautiful and renowned buildings - the Rossio Railway Station - an undisputed icon of late XIX Century Romantic architecture (and which has recently undergone a profound facelift), Lisbon Destination Hostel is perched around a winter garden, where light filters down from the rooftop, harmoniously flooding the patio and creating an ambiance that is both tranquil and upbeat.

We had planned on catering to a specific target, only to realize later that we didn't have to. We're confident that, between the ample first floor bedrooms (sleeping four to six people) with large windows overlooking the historic city, and the double rooms one floor up which peer out over the winter garden, you - whomever you may be - will find your niche.

And if all this weren't enough, please note that, from our doorstep, you can take the train to the town of Sintra, a UNESCO World Heritage Site just 20 minutes ride away. Once you get there, you'll understand why.

Through we have activities every night, we are not a party Hostel, and after 0.00h you can always continue the party in the local pubs nearby. :)

Guests of all ages are welcome. Minors may only stay if you book a complete dormitory or a private room. View House Rules

Best Hostel in Lisbon and one if the best in Europe. It starts with a wonderful staff, super nice people working there, good bathrooms, good spacey rooms and good location. Very chill hostal. Suggestions: find ways to do FREE activities at this hostal to integrate travelers: maybe free dinner? Having to go to other hostal for bbq not cool and pub crawl never happened. So organize stuff yourselves get more travelers engaged :)

This hostel is awesome with some of the nicest facilities I’ve seen in a hostel. Brand new showers and curtains on all the bunks. The communal space is awesome with lots of couches and places to hang. Central to everything you need I definitely recommend this spot!

One of the best hostels I have stayed in. The location is perfect. Everything is within walking distance. The staff is so friendly and polite. Although there is a direct train from Rossio station but then you have to get a bus to go everywhere in Sintra. I'd strongly recommend to book a day tour to Sintra with the hostel. It was totally worth it. Our driver 'Manuel' was so knowledgeable and fun. The hostel facilities are very clean. Its such a bright and airy space. Simply great!!

My experience at Lisbon Destination Hostel was fantastic. This was my first trip to Europe and first time staying in a hostel and it was perfect! The atmosphere is very relaxing and the staff are fellow travellers who make an effort to get to know you during your stay. They made excellent recommendations for local activities. The bathrooms were cleaned frequently and the common area was perfect to relax after a day of exploring. I would 100% recommend this to anyone staying in Lisbon!

This is such an awesome hostel to stay in. Located in Rossio train station so very easy to get to. The rooms, are very comfortable, each bed has charging point, and light and curtains. There are lockers for each bed. The included breakfast is great, toast, cereal, fresh fruit, yoghurt, pancakes and hot drinks and juice. The common area is so nice to chill out in. The staff are super friendly, I needed to stay an extra night in Lisbon and they were only too happy to find a bed for me.

No secure place for backpack in my opinion, just a drawer that mine did not fit into. The room was very small and tight for four people. Liked the hostel I was in Lisbon much better even though that was room for eight people. Would not stay there again

Lisbon Destination Hostel says

Being situated inside of one of the central Lisbon stations makes our hostel the perfect place for people that always want to be in the middle of everything happening. You can easily access all the points of interest of Lisbon and you have bars, malls, museums just around the corner. Being in a national monument at the same time makes the place especially charming. Every guest is really excited by the idea of staying in a train station. It's amazing to write to your mum, 'Hey, I'm ok, I'm sleeping in the train station in Lisbon!'
From the first sight you're getting impressed by the beauty and style, but then once you get inside you also get the special care and our extremely homey atmosphere. There\'re many spontaneous events happening, like celebrating one's birthday or just inventing new games.
I think every visitor must experience walking through Lisbon's seven hills (I'm really sure there's more than seven). Nothing can compare with this sweet pain in muscles and amazement in the mind from all the views you get from looking over the beautiful city of Lisbon! To have it extremely fun we advise you to join our free walking tour.
Our hostel is perfect for anyone; party guys will find Bairro Alto in just three minutes' walking distance, history lovers will appreciate the neighborhood of museums, galleries and monuments and shopoholics will find malls and small local designer stores.
