Hostelworld says

We like that the recently-opened Lisbon Destination Hostel is located in Rossio train station, an ornate Romantic building of open spaces, high ceilings and big windows. Hostelworld visitors continually praise the 'informative, enthusiastic and very helpful' staff serving 'cheap delicious meals', pancake breakfast and 'quite a lot of free guided tours'. One Hostelworld users said this hostel 'will make your travel even more enjoyable, because the atmosphere you breathe in...makes you feel [at] home and it's like a big family'. Trains to Sintra leave from Rossio station and our guests assure us they 'never once heard a train' during their stay.

Property Description

Formerly called Rossio Patio Hostel, we offer the perfect location, great staff and an impressively high-standard hostel.

You know those most important landmarks that are drawn on maps? We’re one of them. We are situated right in the city’s most important square, Rossio, Lisbon’s “living room”.
Everything worth seeing is walking distance, although it will be hard to leave the hostel, with the cinema room, the free pool table and the bar that’s open every evening.

In July of 2011, smack in the heart of downtown Lisbon, a new hostel was born. It could be just another hostel, except it's not. Housed in one of Lisbon's most beautiful and renowned buildings - the Rossio Railway Station - an undisputed icon of late XIX Century Romantic architecture (and which has recently undergone a profound facelift), Lisbon Destination Hostel is perched around a winter garden, where light filters down from the rooftop, harmoniously flooding the patio and creating an ambiance that is both tranquil and upbeat.

We had planned on catering to a specific target, only to realize later that we didn't have to. We're confident that, between the ample first floor bedrooms (sleeping four to six people) with large windows overlooking the historic city, and the double rooms one floor up which peer out over the winter garden, you - whomever you may be - will find your niche.

And if all this weren't enough, please note that, from our doorstep, you can take the train to the town of Sintra, a UNESCO World Heritage Site just 20 minutes ride away. Once you get there, you'll understand why.

Through we have activities every night, we are not a party Hostel, and after 0.00h you can always continue the party in the local pubs nearby. :)

Guests of all ages are welcome. Minors may only stay if you book a complete dormitory or a private room. View House Rules

Cant speak more highly of this place, I stayed a different hostel in Lisbon, Sant Jordi - a terrible hostel. I had to book last minute and found this place. It's amazing! Best part is the staff, such amazing people. Thanks for making our stay so much fun!!!

10/10. The hostel is right in the heart of Lisbon. Something of great value to me is its cleanness and in that sense i was not at all disappointed. Atmosphere is great and the staff couldn't be better. To top it off, the place is exceptionally beautiful. Its been a pleasure to stay there and would recommend it to anyone.

This was the last hostel I stayed at after my 6 weeks of traveling. WOW. The only one I scored 10/10 for everything. From the moment I arrived staff were super friendly ... especially Murilo. The atmosphere is so relaxed and friendly, a great place to meet fellow travellers. Rooms were clean, beds comfy and private. Curtains were definitely a plus. The location is perfect. I cannot fault this hostel. I would definitely recommend to others. I loved my stay so much. Made my trip to Lisbon perfect.

Definitely a chiller hostel. Super clean, beautiful common area and pretty secure. They have AC in the rooms which is great in the summer. Not the most social hostel unless you go to their sunset location on their rooftop bar, which is a bit far. But really pretty and good for a quiet, chill time.

Excellent location inside the train station (not the main train station in Lisbon). I only stayed here one night so I didn’t get a chance to take full advantage of all the activities and things this hostel had to offer. The common area was really cool, and the staff were nice. I would stay here again.

A hostel with everything you need: good location, young staff and volunteers and plenty of social activities. The only problem was when I arrived early for an activity and felt I was missing out because I hadn’t gone through menopause yet. It’s okay though because those damn slow youth will always come around later.

Good hostel. I really loved everything was eco friendly and environmentally conscious. The staff were really nice and the areas were clean and comfortable. Hostel was a bit hard to find including the second entrance during nighttime. We ended up hanging out at the sister hostel most of the time as they have a rooftop. Breakfast was amazing and very filling. Walking tour was amazing! Not a great atmosphere for solo travelers so I’d suggest go to sunset (sister hostel) if you’re solo. Thank you!

Really enjoyed my stay! The staff were so helpful an inviting. I thought the rooms could of been a little better kept, and the room was a more humid found it difficult to sleep in. The common area was bright, clean and relaxing. Breakfast was nutritious and delicious easy way to meet people. The location is prime, and would highly recommend I’ll be going back before I leave Portugal to spend a couple more days in Lisbon!

Clean, great position with enthusiastic and helpful staff. Main complaint was the continous, loud music played from 10.00 until 11.00 pm. With the bass turned up it penetrated walls, ear plugs and head phones. After a 27 hour flight and over night train all I wanted was sleep, that was impossible. The staff said it had to be played because "it was a hostel", shame because it spoilt what was otherwise a very cool place.

Lisbon Destination Hostel says

Being situated inside of one of the central Lisbon stations makes our hostel the perfect place for people that always want to be in the middle of everything happening. You can easily access all the points of interest of Lisbon and you have bars, malls, museums just around the corner. Being in a national monument at the same time makes the place especially charming. Every guest is really excited by the idea of staying in a train station. It's amazing to write to your mum, 'Hey, I'm ok, I'm sleeping in the train station in Lisbon!'
From the first sight you're getting impressed by the beauty and style, but then once you get inside you also get the special care and our extremely homey atmosphere. There\'re many spontaneous events happening, like celebrating one's birthday or just inventing new games.
I think every visitor must experience walking through Lisbon's seven hills (I'm really sure there's more than seven). Nothing can compare with this sweet pain in muscles and amazement in the mind from all the views you get from looking over the beautiful city of Lisbon! To have it extremely fun we advise you to join our free walking tour.
Our hostel is perfect for anyone; party guys will find Bairro Alto in just three minutes' walking distance, history lovers will appreciate the neighborhood of museums, galleries and monuments and shopoholics will find malls and small local designer stores.
