Hostelworld says

We like that the recently-opened Lisbon Destination Hostel is located in Rossio train station, an ornate Romantic building of open spaces, high ceilings and big windows. Hostelworld visitors continually praise the 'informative, enthusiastic and very helpful' staff serving 'cheap delicious meals', pancake breakfast and 'quite a lot of free guided tours'. One Hostelworld users said this hostel 'will make your travel even more enjoyable, because the atmosphere you breathe in...makes you feel [at] home and it's like a big family'. Trains to Sintra leave from Rossio station and our guests assure us they 'never once heard a train' during their stay.

Property Description

Formerly called Rossio Patio Hostel, we offer the perfect location, great staff and an impressively high-standard hostel.

You know those most important landmarks that are drawn on maps? We’re one of them. We are situated right in the city’s most important square, Rossio, Lisbon’s “living room”.
Everything worth seeing is walking distance, although it will be hard to leave the hostel, with the cinema room, the free pool table and the bar that’s open every evening.

In July of 2011, smack in the heart of downtown Lisbon, a new hostel was born. It could be just another hostel, except it's not. Housed in one of Lisbon's most beautiful and renowned buildings - the Rossio Railway Station - an undisputed icon of late XIX Century Romantic architecture (and which has recently undergone a profound facelift), Lisbon Destination Hostel is perched around a winter garden, where light filters down from the rooftop, harmoniously flooding the patio and creating an ambiance that is both tranquil and upbeat.

We had planned on catering to a specific target, only to realize later that we didn't have to. We're confident that, between the ample first floor bedrooms (sleeping four to six people) with large windows overlooking the historic city, and the double rooms one floor up which peer out over the winter garden, you - whomever you may be - will find your niche.

And if all this weren't enough, please note that, from our doorstep, you can take the train to the town of Sintra, a UNESCO World Heritage Site just 20 minutes ride away. Once you get there, you'll understand why.

Through we have activities every night, we are not a party Hostel, and after 0.00h you can always continue the party in the local pubs nearby. :)

Guests of all ages are welcome. Minors may only stay if you book a complete dormitory or a private room. View House Rules

Great hostel! Clean, friendly staff, great vibe and free buffet breakfast! Good location and bathrooms were great. My bed was a little squeaky and the curtain couldn't close properly but otherwise was a very good hostel. Only problem was the cards to open your locker could open everyone else's locker in the room! But the lockers were huge! The music playing in the chill out area was great and the couches and hammocks were comfy. 100% would come back, love this place :)

Had a great stay at the Destination Hostel in Lisbon! It is a beautiful space and when you arrive you are greeted by a friendly and welcoming staff. I had a private room and felt very comfortable during my stay. The facility was immensely clean and was my best stay in a hostel yet! I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a hostel in central Lisbon.

This hostel is so beautiful. If aesthetics are something you are into, this hostel has all the good vibes — it’s full of plants, hammocks, and good music. The best part of this hostel is the location. Because it’s located in Rossio Station, it made our day trip to Sintra SO SIMPLE. I usually avoid staying in 8 person rooms, but they had good privacy curtains and nice communal showers/bathrooms. If I come back to Lisbon, I’ll be staying here again.

I love this hostel so much. The common area is easily the most beautiful I've ever seen and, honestly, I liked that common area more than I did most hotel lobbies (like, good five-star ones too). The staff were super nice and there were always plenty of events happening. While I was there, there were some renovations happening in the washrooms. I also found the ensuite bathroom to be very small. Outlets (for each bed) were awkwardly placed. None of these issues were deal breakers though.

I enjoyed my stay here but I was surprised by how non social it was! The lights in the common area were off before 10 and anyone in there was just in the dark in their phones. Other than that it is a great place. I liked the showers and appreciated the curtains on the beds. This would be a great place to stay if you are traveling with at least one other friend :)

Lisbon Destination Hostel says

Being situated inside of one of the central Lisbon stations makes our hostel the perfect place for people that always want to be in the middle of everything happening. You can easily access all the points of interest of Lisbon and you have bars, malls, museums just around the corner. Being in a national monument at the same time makes the place especially charming. Every guest is really excited by the idea of staying in a train station. It's amazing to write to your mum, 'Hey, I'm ok, I'm sleeping in the train station in Lisbon!'
From the first sight you're getting impressed by the beauty and style, but then once you get inside you also get the special care and our extremely homey atmosphere. There\'re many spontaneous events happening, like celebrating one's birthday or just inventing new games.
I think every visitor must experience walking through Lisbon's seven hills (I'm really sure there's more than seven). Nothing can compare with this sweet pain in muscles and amazement in the mind from all the views you get from looking over the beautiful city of Lisbon! To have it extremely fun we advise you to join our free walking tour.
Our hostel is perfect for anyone; party guys will find Bairro Alto in just three minutes' walking distance, history lovers will appreciate the neighborhood of museums, galleries and monuments and shopoholics will find malls and small local designer stores.
