Hostelworld says

Lisbon Lounge Hostel was rated the best small hostel in the world at the 2011 Hoscars and it's not difficult to see why. The hostel offers bike rentals, free fado and walking tours and the rooms have been decorated by local artists. The most popular feature seems to be the hostel's nightly three-course Portuguese meal, served with wine and bread for only â'¬9. One Hostelworld traveller told us dinner was 'a perfect opportunity to have good food for a great price and meet new people in a nice atmosphere'.

Property Description

With supreme comfort, cleanliness, style and security, the multi-award-winning Lisbon Lounge Hostel is the perfect place to call home during your visit to our fantastic city.

The LLH was the first hostel in Lisbon, opened in 2005 as a project by four Portuguese. From the beginning the concept was simple: to give backpackers a first-class Lisbon experience at budget prices. Through the years we have continued to improve our service, and we were recently voted the best Small Hostel in the World 2010 and 2011 by Hostelworld.

Our services include free walking tours, free nightlife tours, bicycle rental, mini bar and free coffee and tea all day. For a low cost you can join other guests for our three-course hostel dinner, cooked by our talented Portuguese chef. We also offer cheap van tours (during summertime) to the romantic historical town of Sintra and the local beaches.

Were located in the heart of Lisbon's historic Baixa district, the main tourist center of the city. The hostel is just around the corner from the iconic Rua Augusta, a grand and beautiful mosaic-tiled pedestrian street capped by a colossal arch. A short stroll will also take you to the charming suburb of Alfama, the oldest part of Lisbon and the home of Fado, the music of Portugal. At night you can walk to the famous Bairro Alto, a labyrinth of bars and street parties. All forms of public transport, including the airport shuttle and the Cascais beach train line, are within very short walking distance of our hostel.

With so much on offer, you will have everything you need to have a comfortable, memorable and fun stay in Lisbon. We look forward to welcoming you to the city we love!

Please note:  from the 1st of January 2019 a city tax of 2€ per person per night will be charged on top of your bill and it should be paid on site. This tax is charged to guests aged 13 and older. It is subject to a maximum amount of 14€ per guest. View House Rules

Really amazing stay! We were in Lisbon for only 2 days but because of the perfect location of the hostel we were able to see everything! The staff was super friendly and the place was clean & well-decorated. A little bit noisy when trying to sleep, but nothing super uncomfortable. It was truly a great stay! :D

It's a great hostel if you are looking for a quiet and peaceful stay. The rooms are very spacious and the common areas really nice. The breakfast was very good (just as a recommendation, it could have some fruit).

Absolutely fabulous location and great staff with good suggestions for things to do! Had some minor issues with the showers ( certain ones were not working) but other than that it was great!

This hostel is fantastic. The staff are all very lovely and helpful. The rooms are very spacious and the lockers are the biggest I've ever seen. They are underneath the bed and take up half the bed, I fit my entire backpack in there and had all my belongings unpacked in there too, secure lock. The only flaw is the beds are a little creaky but it never woke me up. Breakfast is basic but good. Bathrooms are clean, busy in the morning but I never waited for the shower or anything during the day.

The high rating of this hostel is not with no reason. The location couldn’t be any better. It is clean. Rooms are airconditions. Lockers are quite spacious. Breakfast is simple but good enough. The only inconvenience for me was that power outlets are not by the beds, but within the lockers on the floor. So i couldnt get my cell phone charged while lying on the bed and browsing the internet!

    Fabulous

Location is worse than I thought - it's in the middle of downtown which is a massive tourist hub, so there's not much worthwhile there. Getting anywhere is usually at least 10 minutes walk (which is still pretty great though). The atmosphere wasn't amazing. The rooms were very comfortable and spatious though, and everything was quite clean, so it was ultimately a great place to stay.

Perfect location. Nice and helpful staff. They offer different activities for a reasonable price. Breakfast included and fruit is available at the kitchen. no curfew and always someone at the front desk. No lift, but manageable. The hostel is really nice decorated. The rooms are spacious and clean. The doors to the corridor are not well isolated and (as you know in hostels) it can be loud when neighbours come in. The shower had mould :( but hot water

Nice hostel, great breakfasts. Just a shame about the other guests in my room- very noisy until the early hours and turning lights on in the middle of the night etc.

Lisbon Lounge Hostel says

I'd have to say the most unique thing about our hostel is our three big lounges and the graffiti walls in every lounge. What also makes us special is that we offer an amazing and inspired environment about which guests can build their travel experience. They can easily meet new friends, form lasting life-time bonds, and feel at home without ever having to worry about the hassle or stress that can accompany traditional hotel travel. We hear from a lot of our guests that what they like the most about us is the familiar feeling of hanging out at home with friends. When they aren't out trekking the town they can meet other guests over our wonderful dinners, participate in one (or many) of our free day and night tours or sip on a signature house cocktail at our bar.
