Hostelworld says

Decked out in comic book theme throughout, this is one of the coolest hostels you're likely to see. And like all good Meininger hostels, its location is hard to beat. It's just 15 minutes from Grand Place and 300m from the Porte de Flandre, so it's not hard to explore the city's sights and bars from this spot. The hostel doesn't hold back on features either. The bar is the perfect place to meet fellow travellers or you can bond over games of pool or on the Wii. What's more, it's green as can be, being completely CO2 neutral.

Overview

Built in an old brewery, MEININGER Brussels City Center has a warehouse vibe with a twist. Look closer and you'll see graffiti everywhere, from tiny figures sketched on tables and floors to large comic-inspired murals on the walls. Our fun-loving design, along with our awesome social spaces, might explain why we've nailed the top spot as the Hoscars' Most Popular Hostels in Brussels every year since 2015. Update your travel diary over a drink in our lively bar, relax on our outdoor terrace, or get into some pool in our games room.

Location

You'll find us on the Canal de Charleroi, 300 metres from Porte de Flandre station and a 40-minute journey by train to Brussels Airport. Ask staff at the 24-hour reception for recommendations on the best sights to see, and they'll also give you the lowdown on the tours from our hostel. They can point you in the direction of the Grand Place, Brussels' central square, just a 15-minute walk away.

Rooms and Dorms

When you've checked in, grab your key card and head up to your room using the lift (because who likes lugging luggage up several flights?). We've got single, double and multi-bed spaces or dorms with free bedding and security lockers for a fee. Each room has its own bathroom and TV for morning-after lazing. If you go for a private room you'll get towels to rent too – so no need to pack one.

Extras and activities

We have a filling breakfast every morning for a small fee, or you can use the fully equipped kitchen – with a stove, microwave oven and kitchen utensils – to make yourself a meal. Snacks and drinks are available in the vending machines and at reception if you don't feel like cooking. You'll also find computers in the lobby if you're travelling without your tablet or laptop. Otherwise, Wi-Fi's free throughout the hostel.

Fantastic hostel, pretty much a hotel. My friends and I stayed for two nights in a private 4 bedroom and loved it then we also stayed in the 6 person mixed dorm and had an equally good experience. Very clean and very safe. A 20-minute walk into the center was safe and really enjoyable. I would definitely recommend!

Just stayed here last night. The rooms are lovely, very clean & equipped with an en-suite, TV & security lockers. If you plan on using the lockers, you'll have to bring your own lock. If you don't, they are approx €9 to buy on site. Towels - you'll be charged a €1 fee to borrow a towel, plus a €10 deposit that is refunded when you bring back the towel. Overall, a very nice place. A very large group on our floor was extremely noisy, but that's not the hostel's fault.

Huge shout out to the amazing team here! The young lady with blonde hair behind the desk was very helpful with my needs as I arrive cycle touring with my bicycle. I must have been a nuisance but they were super helpful with my bookings when I needed to add extra time due to the storm! Also, Pedro, behind the desk did me a big favour by spending time with me helping my booking a room for valentines! He most likely made my weekend. Thanks for an amazing stay guys! Also facilities are great.

    Fabulous

What a pleasant stay! Normally I'm not a fan of hostel chains and even less of big ones, but I liked this. The fact that it has a bar is certainly a plus. An applause also goes to the staff, beautiful! A couple of criticism: despite the great cleaning, I found a little too much dust in the rom. And the kitchen is a little too small considering all the people staying in the hostel. The location is very convenient to reach the city centre but the area is not the best. Maybe a little bit expensive.

Very good hostel near the city centre. It is new and clean. All kind of people and family friendly. I had a great stay there and enjoyed it very much. Just one thing bad is the kitchen is small for the amount of people in hostel and gets very quickly overcrowded at peak times. Overall is an excellent hostel to enjoy Brussels.

    Very Good

Location: 25 min walk to Grand Plaza, not the greatest neighborhood but some cool stuff nearby Room: Strange setup for dorms: Bunk beds and then 2 beds side by side. A little weird for a solo traveler Staff: Not overly friendly, not mean; double charged me for towel deposits Atmosphere: You get a little of everything with backpackers, entire families, and 100s of teenage students at a time Cleanliness: Very clean, though some black mold in showers Value: Good values for money (breakfast extra)
