Property Description

Oasis is a hostel in the real sense of the word. A hostel should be a hostel. We don't think that it should be a boutique hotel designed by Philippe Stark. A hostel should be cheap and in the best location of the city, within walking distance of everything worth seeing. A hostel should have staff that go out of their way for every traveller, not because we want better ratings but because it is what good people do.

Besides having free Wi-Fi, lockers, and other standard services, a hostel should be clean, and most importantly a hostel should be cool but in the classic sense of the word like Mickey Rourke or Paul Newman, unique in personality that never goes out of style.

A Hostel, more than a place to sleep, should be a place that helps you feel what it's like to actually live in a city and not just stay in it.

Our local and international staff are all Lisbon-lovers and use their wealth of information and personalities to show you their Lisbon with their eyes. 'See Lisbon or Die!' is the name of our activities, led by our staff that will let you truly come to know Lisbon and those who make it special. From local food tours, street art tours, all day adventures to experiences that guide books fear and tourists rarely see, our activities will leave you feeling Portuguese.

Above all, a hostel should be social. In Lisbon with our bar, dinners and special events we go out of our way to make sure that we are the place to meet other interesting travelers to share your experiences with and if sometimes you wake up with a hangover as a token of our hospitality, all the better.

It was one of my best experience. The people in the hostel was so friendly and social. We went out together for waling tour and parties, and just chillin in the little terrace/garden sharing stories and good vibe. The stuff was amazing as well.

Had the best stay at Oasis! The building and common spaces were cool, the family dinners were incredible, and the staff/volunteers were magical- always going out of their way to help you out and make sure you have the best time in Lisbon. Felt like a little family! Highly recommend.

    Fabulous

Overall great hostel. Don’t let my 8.8 discourage you, I am just a very honest reviewer. The staff is great. Dinner is super tasty (5 euro). One of the cheapest places to stay in Lisbon. Common areas are great (living/dining room is super cozy, and outdoor garden is cool). My 8 person room was split into two bedrooms with 4 in each with one shared bathroom which is cool. Met some awesome people. Stayed 12 nights. Only negative was shower was cold (only mine) and everything was extra (coffee, etc)

*Located on a hill, so go to the baxhia-chiado (may be spelled slightly wrong) train stop. Not the cabo de sulca (may be recalling the name completely wrong, but similar) train stop from the airport. Otherwise you will be huffing and puffing with your luggage! The hostel is decent, but is a little run down. Shower: I don't believe has been given a good scrub in a while. Staff were nice enough. The patio area was nice and loved the double windows. Closet to hang clothes and safe in the bedroom.

    Fabulous

Small hostel, nice communal area. Excellent evening dinner, tasty food and some good conversation. The one negative was the very limited number of showers and toilets for the number of guests. Hard to see how they would fix that in an old house, so just be aware you might need to wait. I would go there again.

    Very Good

A decent hostel. Had both good and bad experience. Their bathroom needs to be upgraded, shower isn’t working that well. You need to wait a little longer before the water becomes warmer. On top of that, for some reason in one of the nights during my stay (carnival season), someone was occupying my bed at 3am. I was so shocked. I asked the staff to talk to the drunk lady bec I don’t speak Portuguese but at first he told me to occupy other vacant bed in the room. “I want my own bed,” I insisted....
