About

The Old Town Alur Hostel is one of the best located hostels in Tallinn, as it is just around the corner of the Town Hall Square but still in a quiet street. All of our rooms are clean, with comfy beds, free bed linen and all guests get a key for their room.

Being the biggest hostel in Tallinn, we comfortably can accommodate both groups and single travellers. We provide you with organised daily tours, bike rental, but also we organise spontaneous movie nights, or we will take you out for pub crawls, parties and events that might just pop up in Tallinn. You surely won't miss a thing!

We have a cosy common room where all our guests and staff can mingle up to have fun, relax, play games or watch a movie. Also you will find there our computers that you can use for free.

Our friendly, multi-lingual staff will do their very best to make your stay in Tallinn as pleasant as possible. They can also help you with advice on museums, shopping, international & local travel as well as ticket reservation, and Tallinn's vibrant nightlife.

Free wi-fi throughout the building and a fully equipped kitchen.

Summary of traveller reviews

Old Town Alur Hostel in Tallinn offers a social atmosphere and a fantastic location in the old town. Staff are friendly and helpful, and organised activities are a nice touch. Beds can be noisy and basic, and some doors have tricky locks, but it's a great value option for travellers.

The staff was lovely: so helpful & the sweetest people ever! Also the atmosphere there is great & it‘s really easy to speak to friends - also apart from the hostel‘s social event. The hostel itself is a bit confusing: there are 2 hostels at the same location, the reception is the same, though. If I had known the condition of the Alur‘s bathrooms & rooms I‘d chosen Mad Monks tbh… Everything was very run down & had a very strange smell to it. But it’s possible to use facilities in the other one.

a great and cheap place to stay in Tallinn. I love that you get to share with Monks Bunks their bars and events. please note you have to check into the hostel through the monks bunks front desk which they don't tell you. I also HATE how slownthe staff was to check me in. i was the only one waiting at 7pm and it took 40 minutes before somone started to check me in. that needs to be fixed pronto.
