You'll find Quartier Bilbao Hostel in the medieval neighbourhood of Casco Viejo. Our sleek grey-and-white theme has the feel of a boutique hotel but the liveliness of a hostel. Pop up to the roof terrace for a cerveza with new friends, or bring your free breakfast up to eat in the sun. If you're more of a shade seeker, hang out in the common room with a good book.

The hostel is in the Old Town, 75 metres from the river and a 5-minute walk from Casco Viejo metro (Linea 1 will take you to the city centre). If you've come for a taste of Basque life, the Azkuna Zentroa cultural centre is a 20-minute walk. Or you could just order a cortado (milky espresso) like a local in one of the neighbourhood bars. Arrival by public transport is simple: we're a 12-minute walk from Bilbao-Abando Railway Station, and Bilbao Airport (6 kilometres away) is serviced by a regular bus.

Grab a free city map from reception and we'll point you towards the riverside walkway leading to the Guggenheim Museum and its famous giant flower dog.

The hostel is in the middle of the casco viejo. It’s very clean and safe. If you are traveling alone, don’t worry, you will definitely make some friends. The only negative aspect was the rain :(

I loved this place. It's a great location in the city's old town and not far from public transportation. The staff was amazing and helpful. There was never a lack of ambiance and that proper hostel feeling that allows you to meet people from all over the world for drinks and visiting. I loved taking my coffee to the rooftop terrace to relax in the morning or taking a beer up there in the afternoon.

Nice place in the heart of Bilbao's Old Town. Helpful staff, clean rooms, locked front door and locked luggage storage. Whilst I was there, the other guests were all low-key, relaxed types who were not there to drink an insane amount and do stupid things. That said, we still had lots of fun and enjoyed the Plaza Nueva pintxo bars and beers.

Very cozy vibes. Excellent breakfast (seriously, I loved the toast and tomato option). Room was great--top bunk wasn't too high up and had great privacy and reading light. Amazing location. The door to my room was a bit tough to open with the key, but I think they changed that the next day, and the shower space is a little tight. But really thought this place was quite charming. Would definitely return if I go back to Bilbao.

Great hostel! Located close to one of the most vibrant streets of the old town, so there’s plenty to do within walking distance. Great staff and well organized hostel.

    Very Good

I had left my bag earlier and when I went to retrieve it they handed me the key and I went upstairs to get it alone. They didn't verify I had left a bag or who I was, nothing to stop someone from theft. One of the showers didn't have a lock on it. The room I was in didn't close itself hard enough to lock so it was often left unlocked. The toilet locks themselves can be rotated by hand and the cleaner tried to whilst I was in it. Bed socket was hanging off too. Decent enough stay even so.

Would not stay here again. The rooms are very small and hard to navigate once people have their luggage inside. The duvet I was provided had many strands of hair from previous guests and the clip that held the shower head was broken so you had to hold it the whole time while you tried to shower. Common area is decent but not too spacious for the number of guests. Location was convenient. Staff were often outside smoking and not at the desk. Claimed 24 hour reception noone there at early checkout
