Staff were welcoming, Informative and made sure we got what we needed. The cleaning staff were awesome. Their were only two nights the kitchen was a bit grubby but that was due to some inconsiderate guests who didn't wash their own dishes. The parking was adequate. There was a self laundry around the corner. We bought an extra fan because it was pretty hot in the rooms. Showers and shared bathroom was clean. Great shower pressure. Felt safe in the hostel with my family.

I enjoyed my stay. My only criticism is the toilet facilities . There really should be ladies and gets on each floor. The men's was a walk up to the second floor and only one f the two were working. Not a user friendly arrangement, especially in the middle ifcthe night havexa long hike to pee!

Me and my boyfriend stayed here and it was his first hostel experience. We both really enjoyed it. Super cleanly, wasn’t too loud, added benefit of being attached to a rock climbing place. We would likely stay here again and I’ll definitely recommend it.

    Very Good

The Hostel staff were friendly. I enjoyed a nice sleep on top bunk + other guests were friendly @ breakfast following morning. The kitchen area could do with an upgrade of its facilities + also, eg cooking pots + pans. Dining-room appeared a bit dingy, with too much furniture and little space in- between to move through. Due to it being Easter, there was free parking in the area, which was a real bonus. Being situated in the city centre was useful 4 getting to other places.

    Very Good

The renewed space is very nice and clean but the old space is old and dirty, specially the bathrooms. We stayed in the new place was good but there was too many kids making a lot of noise, it was awful the parents just didn’t care for the others left their kids running around with no supervision. The hostel should have rules for the noise.

Beds are super comfy and the location is great. Only a couple of issues that I hope management will improve on. Tea, coffee and sugar we're all out in the morning, great to see there was a TV upstairs but the sound cut out completely an hour into a movie and stopped working altogether, also the elements in the kitchen have no high/low rating to know where to turn the dial to when cooking. There was no Aircon in the room but the small fan was appreciated. Overall an okay stay.

Cheap place to stay but particularly unpleasant given the building smells very strongly like a sweaty old gym (on top of the usual Rotorua rotten egg smell). Rooms weren’t particularly nice and had limited power plugs, although beds were comfortable. Heater in the room was good. Bathrooms were kept tidy and the hairdryer and straightener were a nice addition. Central location, everything within walking distance. Kitchen isn’t very clean. Wouldn’t stay there again tbh

The property was good, it had an old musty smell to it and the walls are very thin so make sure you take ear plugs with you if you choose to stay here. It is a necessity in this place. There was black hair and a tissue in my bed, but the room was cleaned. There was also hair in the showers which happens in hostels. Overall, it wasn't a great place to stay, but it kept us safe with a roof over our head. There was also free parking the weekend we stayed because it was a holiday, so that was ideal.
