Only stayed one night but this is a nice clean cosy place to stay. Breakfast includes toast with butter/jam (among other items). Staff were friendly and helpful. Tall lockers were provided in the dorms.

We liked it here so much that we stayed again for our second visit to George Town. It’s clean, comfy beds, lovely staff (very friendly but also helpful, they printed our online bus tickets free of charge) and it was in a great location (minutes walk away from Love Lane, without the noise which was perfect for us).

Good location for people who are not looking to be in the centre of the backpacking area of Georgetown. It is a 2 minute walk to love lane and a 5 minute walk to china town. Breakfast is good although there was mash potato one morning which was unusual to me. The staff were able to give good suggestions to where to go. Penang hill and the forest park are 20 minutes away but the bus stops are close by

The staff were eager to help and respectful. Particularly, Ken went out of his way to suggest things to try, and I appreciated his help.

Lovely hostel, great location, large comfy beds, amazing security, good volunteers. But they charged 21RM tourist tax! Nowhere does it mention this tax, in fact I chose Ryokan because it did NOT mention further costs! Very disappointed and soured the rest of our experience as it’s a substantial amount of money and the hostel is already expensive for Penang standards. Breakfast needs work - odd mix of food, mashed potato don’t go, bad sausages. Would be nice to see some Asian breakfast foods

Nice hostel, clean and comfy beds with a locker located nearby each bed. Felt secure with a fob to enter the hostel and a lock on each room door. Hostel volunteers were lovely and very helpful. The atmosphere was better than other reviews had suggested. Most evenings people were sitting outside with a drink and chatting and the volunteer helped arranging a group for a free walking tour of the town.

Nice and clean hostel with great staff in a great location. However, our room of 4 had an AC that had no remote and was permanently fixed on a freezing temperature. This meant you had to keep switching it between on and off throughout the night to avoid being boiling or freezing, making you have a terrible nights sleep. Although the staff gave us extra blankets, me and my girlfriend both got sick with colds for the next week. PLEASE FIX THIS.

The hostel dorms and facilities are clean. I travel solo and found it difficult to meet people at the hostel. The atmosphere was quiet, which is nice if you want to rest. Just a tad to quiet for a solo traveller
