Property Description

Rome's homiest and most chill hostel since 1999, we're a sanctuary in the midst of a bustling city. From the moment you walk in, The Beehive is the kind of place where you'll feel at home. It's walking barefoot down to the cafe for your morning coffee; getting great advice; eating good food; drinking great wine and having a good night's sleep. Located conveniently just two blocks from Rome's central train station, Termini, you won't have to lug around town a heavy backpack or luggage. Our relaxed vibe and casually stylish atmosphere are perfect for unwinding after a day of exploration.

Owned and run by Linda and Steve, the American owners who packed up their apartment in Los Angeles and took a chance on a crazy idea. Along with their two cats and a Swiss Army knife, they moved to Rome to follow their dream of creating a unique and welcoming space where they could also share their local insider information to their guests about all the best Rome has to offer.

Whether you're traveling solo, with friends or family, or as a couple, The Beehive has a variety of room types to suit all needs and budgets: dorm beds (including several female only dorms), private rooms with shared bathroom and private rooms with private bathrooms.

Our cafe serves organic & vegetarian breakfast daily, communal dinners twice a week and we offer weekly cooking classes. Wine, beer, coffee, tea, and desserts are available from our reception staff throughout the day. Guests have access to limited self-catering kitchen facilities. Relax in the small indoor lounge filled with personal photos, books, boards games and a guitar or out in the beautiful courtyard garden packed with colorful murals and comfy places to chill out and enjoy the Roman weather as one should - al fresco.

We do not have 24-hour reception. Our reception closes at 23:00. If your flight arrives after 21:00 it's not likely you will reach us in time. We cannot accept late arrivals

I had a great stay at the Beehive. The staff was incredibly helpful and the facilities were spotless. Being so convenient to Roma Termini was a huge plus as well.

My two teen daughters, nephew and I had a wonderful stay at The Beehive. Felt safe & comfortable rooms. Location to sites & train station for day trips was perfect. The communal dinners were a nice perk & opportunity to meet fellow travelers. Enjoyed cappuccino in the front garden. The bathrooms were plentiful, so even though they were not “en-suite” felt like they were & always clean. Staff had great suggestions & directions for food, gelato & sites. Would stay here again.

Very cute and welcoming hostel near Termini Station. The hostel has an app which you can download for tips of where to go and what to eat as well as offers a variety of meals and cooking classes. Would highly recommend!

We absolutely loved our stay at The Beehive. First, the owners were so welcoming and friendly. Second, the place is so clean! The bathrooms, the community spaces, the linens - all were impeccably clean. Third, the mattresses were very comfortable. We slept great all three nights. Lastly, the community events offered by the hostel were some of the highlights of our trip to Rome. We participated in the community dinner and the pasta class. Both were a great value and a great way to socialize!!

I've only stayed at a handful of hostels in my life yet I can safely say this was the best. The staff, which are pretty much the owners and Yuli (who's been with them since the beginning) - and not forgetting Daniel, one of the cooks - are simply fabulous. At all times everyone had a smile and a helpful spirit. I cannot thank Yuli enough for all her attention and help in planning my route or suggesting things to do. I definitely recommend this hostel and will return one day!

Good, calm and clean hostel with a familiar environment and in good condition. But it lacks social events and overall young atmosphere. Good for a stop over thanks to its near location to the train station

I really enjoyed my stay, especially the family dinner which was great value and a fab chance to meet people. The staff were very good at recommending places to eat and the beds were comfy. My main problem was that the only plug sockets are at ground level so if you're in a top bunk you can't charge your phone if you need to set an alarm, this meant I got a lot of use out of my battery pack during my stay. The terrace is lovely and the breakfast (not included) is tasty.

Homely vibe but a bit of an older crowd and my room was mistaken at the beginning and I ended up in a private room next to very loud construction where the sink didn’t work
