'This highly social hostel is a Bellavista classic. Not only does it tick every box for a good hostel stay, it is also within hollering distance of some of the city best bars and restaurants.' - Lonely Planet

Serving the world since 2002! The Bellavista is a small hostel with big flavor. We are located in the capital’s coolest district in Central Santiago: Barrio Bellavista! This quirky area is famous for its alternative culture and is the favorite of backpackers visiting Santiago.

This hostel-hood provides everything you need from great food, bars n pubs, outdoor fun, art, live music, festivals and so much more!

We don’t like to brag, but we do have it all: awesome staff, free wi-fi, free basic breakfast, self-catering kitchen and laundrette. We also provide free luggage storage for you on the day of your arrival and check-out.

The Bellavista also organizes fun stuff for you to do! Free Walking tours, Pub Crawls, wine tastings, BBQs, movie nights… well, you get the drift! It’s a fantastic way to meet other travelers and really make the most of your time in Santiago! Here at Bellavista Hostel, we're small in size and big on personality. You'll have a base in the coolest district of Santiago, right next to some of the city's best places to explore, feast and party. Enjoy your free breakfast surrounded by funky, colourful artworks in our common areas – or just hang out on our sun terrace to make some new friends. We've got a self-service kitchen and laundrette, too, so you can fill up and spruce up before hitting the town.

We're in the Barrio Bellavista, Santiago's bohemian quarter, tucked between the Mapocho River and San Cristóbal Hill. Steps from our front door you'll find art galleries, quirky boutiques and plenty of cool places to eat and drink. It doesn't take long to reach us once you arrive in Chile – we're a 20-minute taxi ride from Santiago Airport, and you can reach us from the bus terminals by taking the metro to our nearest stop, Barquedano, and walking for 10 minutes from there.

Rooms and Dorms

Get social in a mixed dorm, treat yourself to your own room or bunk up with a travel buddy in a private double. We've also got superior rooms for those who want a bit of extra luxury – these come with pod beds with curtains to create your own little sanctuary. Linen and towels are included, so don't worry about bringing your own.

Extras and activities

There's always something to do, whether it's here or at our sister hostel La Chimba! Just grab an itinerary from our 24-hour reception when you arrive. Sip your way through a wine tasting, gather on the outdoor terrace for a BBQ, shoot some pool or foosball or hang out in our lounge for a free movie night. You can store your luggage if you're checking in or out at odd times, meaning you can do some extra sightseeing without your bag.

Huge shoutout to The Bellavista Hostel for a great experience while in Santiago! Arriving solo in a new country, they made getting to know Santiago so much fun with free events like walking tours, wine tasting, and pretty much something free every night. The events are great way to meet people and learn about the city. Great location, clean and they go the extra mile. Highly recommend.

I’d heard mixed reviews for the bellavista hostel, but I’m SO glad I stayed there for my trip. If you’re looking for fun and friendly people, a social atmosphere, and ultra convenience, then this hostel is perfect! I met so many cool people and was so sad to leave. Also the location is perfect for exploring the city.

Staff was super helpful, and my room and hostel in general appeared very secure. Facilities were obviously shared, and therefore a bit dirty. It is in a GREAT location if you like to go out at night. I did get a bit lost on my way in (0184 and 184 are very different addresses in this city), and no one answered the phone number provided on the website.

Total dump. Disgustingly dirty. Showers broken. Smells like death. Save your money and sleep in the park.
