I was quite suprised by the low price considering our room was more akin to a one story apartment than it was a hotel room. The staff was very cordial as well.

It is perfect for a business trip or a rapid stay. Wouldn' recommend staying there for more than 3 nights.

There were no kitchen facilities. The microwave provided is old and needs replacing. Location was fine if you don't mind jumping the light rail. This was cheap and easy to use. The building inside is dull and dated. The staff were friendly and helpful. Fresh towels were no problem to get when we needed them. Linen was all nice on the bed.

This building is an old Victorian that has clearly seen better days. The staff does all that’s possible to keep things clean and comfy. For me, that was acceptable and I liked the character and quirks, especially after staying in a succession of cookie-cutter “nice” hotels. My companion found it shabby and depressing, though. I really liked the location. It was easy to walk to the trains to the center, and to many great restaurants. Boston is expensive, and I found the trade offs acceptable.

    Very Good

My two main criticisms are that, firstly, the images posted to Hostelworld (and other sites) are not accurate and do not reflect the property I stayed in, which was not in the building pictured but in a rundown apartment complex down the street from the main building. Secondly, while the room was advertised as private, I shared a common area. This would be fine, but the walls were thin and I could hear every word of the very loud conversations other guests had when they returned at 1 am.

Friendly staff who were very accommodating, but be ready to accept a run down hostel at what in other cities would be a hotel price. The place is in such need of refurbishment, that cleaning it properly is not really possible.

There are stains on the linens, what appeared to be bed bugs under the mattresses, half the plug didn't work, the mattresses were broken.

The building pictured is where the lobby is, but actual room is separate building adjacent to the property. Butts all around entryway. When we got to the third floor where our room was, we were overwhelmed by the smell of marijuana, and the staff member didn't even notice. Adjacent room to us kept lighting up. We opened windows to try to air out smell. Carpets not vacuumed in.. a month? Outdated food in fridge. When we went to bed we rolled into each other in the center like it was a hammock.

I paid for a room with shared bathroom and it turns up that it was an apartment and there was more people in there, there was no soap or any accommodations on it, pretty much just a bed to sleep in and un bath towel pretty small also. The location is not bad and understand the price was not high but I would have pay more for a regular hotel room. Did not like it at all.
