Arrived afternoon after a 10 hour bus journey with my friend we booked on the same booking but got told we were not in the same room? Then told it wasn’t their fault they couldn’t change it, the lady was super unhelpful made out it was our issue! Eventually we were able to go into a bigger room together but was charged the same price! No solution was offered to us we had to create the solution. The place is pretty basic but good for one night and actually the facilities are pretty minus bathroom

I only stayed one night in the Hive hostel. Kitchen facilities good and public areas good size. Dorm was as you’d expect for the price. Very squeaky floor boards throughout and old squeaky beds. During the night there was a group of men shouting and swearing downstairs in the hostel and on the street which went on for around 2 hours with no one intervening. It eventually stopped when police came. Not sure where the staff were. Would not recommend.

Pay for what you get. We were not expecting this to be amazing with the price. There are a lot of middle aged men that stay here and work in the city. Made the atmosphere a bit strange. It isn't clean. The toilets are horrible.

It is worth the money to stay elsewhere. The hostel is sketchy, dingy and dark. I would not recommend staying here.

The problem with this hostel is that the building is actually very moldy, so for example the bathrooms always seemed like they were dirty. We felt uncomfortable to shower or to go to the toilet. They also accept guests that are clearly not backpackers or travelers, so there is quite a weird vibe in the hostel. The good point is the location, but if you are looking for a place that feels basic comfortable, we would not recommend staying there.

The whole hostel was dirty throughout and full of old people. A window missing on the second floor and just a general dull atmosphere. We had four more nights booked, but have subsequently cancelled these. Don’t waste your money and go elsewhere.
