Wombat’s City Hostel Vienna is situated in a lovely Art-Nouveau building and puts you right next to the famous Naschmarkt, Vienna’s largest and liveliest food market with lots of cozy bars. With hotspots like Karlsplatz, the State Opera, and MuseumsQuartier just a short walk away, you’re in the perfect place to explore the city.

If you want to cover more distance, our hostel is perfectly situated just across the street from the metro station which provides an efficient link to everything from the world-famous Schönbrunn Castle to Vienna International Airport.

Positives of this hostel is its clean, the staff are very nice and the location is great (right next to supermarkets). However, lockers are very expensive. Every other hostel I have been to luggage storage is free so was disappointed to arrive and be forced to pay €5 (we were charged for being 2 minutes late to ending the rent). Another thing is no air con and the fan did not help. The room was incredibly hot and this was a double room with just my friend, it would be even hotter in dorms.

This hostel had a lovely shared space with a bar and outdoor seating however, it fell short with cleanliness - obvious food stains on the sides of the bed and crumbs on the bed table that could’ve easily have been cleaned. The staff were kind and the security sufficient however the actual rooms overall were quite dated. The one positive of the bunk beds was the presence of a fan at three speeds, and blackout curtains which fully closed.
