Right next to Munich’s main train station and a short walk from the Oktoberfest grounds, our City Hostel is the ideal base for exploring Bavaria’s capital. Probably my favourite hostel I’ve stayed in! The atmosphere was so lovely, and the rooms were clean. The bed had everything you could need; a fan, safe, light, charger, small shelf, a comfortable mattress, and blackout curtains for privacy. I loved how the luggage storage in the room could easily be locked with the same room key so you didn’t have to worry about bringing additional locks. Having access to an ensuite in my room was so nice as well.

Great location, right beside the main train station and bus station with lots of links through trams and the U. Staff were lovely, great atmosphere in the bar/ common areas. Only complaints are that you have to put your own sheets on your bed and you have to pay for towels!

Wombats City Hostel was rated the most popular in Munich at the 2017 Hoscars and we're not surprised. This friendly hostel offers a lot of nice extras to guests, such as parking in the basement, a fully-stocked bar and a frequently praised all-you-can-eat breakfast. We particularly like the hammocks and bean bags in their glass-roofed courtyard, where travellers can relax even during poor weather. They're located just 10 minutes walk from the Oktoberfest and most sights in the city centre, as well as near the U-Bahn and international trains at the Hauptbahnhof.
