Great place to stay. I had generator noise from my bedroom which was outside. As it the weather wasn't too hot I shut my window so it wasn't a problem. All the staff and everything else was excellent thank you.

A beautiful historic building setting within a very picturesque village. There are a mass of different walks that are within easy reach. The staff were friendly and the rooms were very clean. I would definitely stay again!

Excellent rural location. Staff were friendly and efficient. Good menu for dinner and food was wholesome and of good quality. Internet and phone connection is unreliable, due to the location. Overall a very pleasant place to stay

Stayed here for a motorbike trip to the Peak District. The grounds and scenery were lovely, parking for motorbikes is free in National Trust car parks which is a big plus. Food on site was good value and tasted great. Not all the facilities open due to Covid restrictions/guidance so the shared kitchen not open etc. But my review is on things open. Only downside is the WiFi is unreliable at best and only in the common areas downstairs. Almost no phone signal either; all in all I would come back.

A stunning building and location and very easy to find. However, wifi is dreadful, only available within main areas and staff were not engaging or helpful. On check-in was a list of do's and don't's and when I asked to change room (not reflective of what I booked) was told nothing they could do despite they were clearly not full booked. Staff did not engage in conversation or enquiry of what my plans were or had I been in the area before. Very transactional staff.

We stayed during covid restrictions so my ratings regarding facilities, value for money and atmosphere were down. Had we had full use of kitchen and games rooms etc it would have been a much more pleasant stay. It was still a beautiful place to stay and I would recommend to others.

I wasn’t happy with a couple of the staff members. Especially the big guy. Tv inntje big hall doesn’t work due to low signal in the area. Very happy with dinner and breakfast. Rooms were clean. Mattress and pillow were very comfortable. Best sleep in years. Shower wasn’t very hot. Overall unite happy with the way, and would go again.
