Quiet place to stay and experience Orkney. The beds are a little uncomfortable, but it varies. The facility is a little dated but it is clean and the security is good. For a place to rest, it is great. If you are looking for a quiet spot after traveling, this is perfect.

This hostel was extremely basic, to say the least.there was paint peeling of the ceiling of our room. The beds and pillows were like bricks. I put stuff in the fridges and they were not clean and smelled bad. We only stayed one night from 23.30 till 8.00 and I would not have liked to stay longer. There is another hostel in kirkwall which is cheaper, cleaner, has en-suite facilities, a fridge, and tea and coffee making items in the room
