About
Stay at the closest hostel to the beach in Port Stephens! Melaleuca is an eco-friendly, owner-operated, architecturally designed hostel set on 6 acres of natural bushland and is just a 5-minute stroll across the road to the fabulous One Mile Beach and national park.
Our boutique-style accommodation has been created using wood and glass to maximise light, space and harmony with nature and is a dedicated Sanctuary and Linf for Wildlife site.
Accommodation styles include cabins with private verandah (single, double/twin or 4 share rooms) and our spacious dorm holds a maximum of 6 per share room. All rooms have a fridge/freezer, fan and heater for those Winter months.
We also have camping available; you can pick your own site in our bush setting and make use of all of our great facilities.
Kombis/Vans are welcome - we have lovely shaded spaces set aside - please note that sites are not powered.
Our purpose-built main building with games and free WIFI is for all guests' use. It has a fully equipped double kitchen, with a lounge and dining area and covered BBQs on surrounding decks.
Your friendly hosts can arrange all your activities and tours for you; there is plenty to choose from, with 26 beaches on the peninsula and lots of National Park walks. Or you may visit Worimi Conservation Lands for sandboarding on the magnificent Coastal Desert that is Stockton dunes, maybe a surf lesson at One Mile Beach, or dolphin cruises all year round with whale watching from May to November. Do as much or as little as you wish.
