Since 1996 Montaña Linda has been offering accommodations, Spanish lessons, tourist information and hiking trails to travelers looking for a break from the big city and the hot beaches. Our hostel offers beds in the dorm or private rooms including towels, hot showers, guest kitchen with free coffee, wifi and dart board all surrounded by beautiful gardens giving you privacy from the outside world. Volcanoes Irazu and Turrialba can be seen in the distance. The owners live on the property so if its more than the staff can handle the owners are there to help. Our local guide book will help you choose the right type of activity to fit your budget and the area is great for free hiking. Tours can be organized upon arrival.

Our location is one of the best in Orosi. We are 25 minutes away by car from Parque Nacional Tapantí -Macizo de la Muerte, one of the best natural parks of the country. In addition, closer to our property, at a walking distance the guests and the travellers can go to some of the finest tourist attractions of our city such as Balneario de Aguas Termales Orosi and Iglesia Colonial de Orosi. Furthermore, the capital of the country, San Jose is around 40 km away so it is quite accessible from our location.

We offer different types of accommodations that will satisfy and suit in the desires and wishes of any kind of guests and travellers. In this sense, we offer dorms for the most venturesome travellers and private accommodations for those guests that are seeking for more privacy and intimacy. Above the aforementioned facts, we also offer amenities and common areas in which the guests can get together and speak about past experiences and future plans.

The staff was nice, cute dogs but the kitchen is very dirty and the bathroom as well. Very few people when we came so not really a social hostel but it is well located and does the job for 1 or 2 nights

First thing to note is the maps might take you to a different place than the hostel 2 blocks away. The staff here was very friendly and helpful, it just seemed for my visit quite run down and not what it used to be, cleanliness was an issue and there were roaches in the shower. It was fine for one night passing thru but I wouldn’t make it a destination vacation.

it’s good albeit quiet. orosi in general has not much to do, i recommend 1 or 2 nights. i do not recommend nano’s waterfall, if you do go WEAR BUG SPRAY and be prepared for a lottt of talking. i do recommend the swimming hole, a great spot to meet and connect with some locals while having a refreshing swim. the free coffee was nice as was the well-stocked kitchen.
