Mahana Lodge Hostel in Papeete offers a fantastic location, perfect for exploring the city and catching ferries. Staff are friendly and helpful. Some guests noted issues with air conditioning in rooms and occasional noise, but the central position is a major plus for travellers.

Not recommended. The room had no window and the AC was unreasonably strong for such a small space, making it uncomfortable. Beds were uncomfortable. Lockers were insecure and could be opened easily; I reported this and it was not fixed. There was no WhatsApp group or similar for coordinating trips with other guests, which makes planning activities difficult. Poor maintenance and communication.

Hostel très basique qui est pratique pour les nuits avant/après ferry ou explorer Papeete. Le dortoir de 12 est serré, et les lampes/prises en piteux état. Beaucoup de gars de 50 ans et plus restent dans le dortoir ce qui peut mettre mal à l'aise les filles même si je n'ai eu aucun problème sur mes 4 nuits ici. Le staff est agréable. L'ambiance générale n'est pas la plus propice aux rencontres.
