Hospedaje Los Chocoyos

Hostel Los Chocoyos is literally only a few meters away from the lake - with our own semi private beach - with clear water - soft pebble sand to really enjoy a swim in the warm waters of Lake Cocibolca.  Our hospedaje is home to the Ometepe SUP Club - the islands first and only dedicated standup paddleboard company to offer tours north and south of our central location in the village of Merida.

The Ometepe SUP Club offers an open to the public daily Breakfast SUP Club - Sunset Pub Paddle and SUP lessons for children, teens and adults - as well as special events and fun races throughout the high tourist season.  Kayaks are also available for those who prefer kayaks over SUP - we have you covered!

Hospedaje Chocoyos is known for its close proximity to the lake - where local fishermen provide for their families and restaurants in the area.  We are located in the heart of the village of Merida - home to a unique collection of restaurants, bars, hotels, hostels, resorts, shops and services.  

We also have a close affiliation with Ometepe Exploring - a tour guide company that specializes in hiking the Maderas Volcano - Ometepe Exploring can also provide horseback riding adventures, fishing tours, waterfall hikes, farm tours and bird watching tours in their suite of tourism related services and guided trips.

Our restaurant specializes in a breakfast menu that is open from 7am to 10am daily.  The menu has many of the familiar local dishes you will find in Nicaragua.  Our bar has cold drinks, cervezas and all the fresh fruit drinks you wish to enjoy from the fruits of the island.

The accommodations are clean, simple rooms with thick comfortable mattresses that you can relax after a long journey to the island or after one of the many excursions you find yourself participating in while you stay with us.  All rooms are equipped with fans and high speed - solar powered - internet to make your stay more pleasant.

Whether you want to relax watching the legendary Ometepe sunsets or bathe in the warm waters of Lake Cocibolca we have comfortable chairs and hammocks to pass the time.  In the evening we have a selection of board games - a music system - and a large screen television for sports or movies to enjoy under the stars of beautiful Ometepe.

Cancellation policy: 72h before arrival.  

Check in from 2:00 pm.

Check out before 10:00 am .

Payment upon arrival by cash, credit cards and or debit cards.

Tips are not included and are very welcomed by our hard working staff.

The reception is open 7am to 9pm each day.

No curfew.

The maximum period of stay is 14 days.
