About

Adra Hostel is a boutique hostel where young and adult travellers live in a beautiful place surrounded by art and culture. No matter who we are or where we come from, in Adra we all see ourselves as equals, without differences and with a common goal: to build a better world, to protect the environment and to reach out to the needy. Adra is a place for travellers seeking an atmosphere of harmony, community and brotherhood. A space in which you can relax comfortably and safely, in Adra we also provide an exceptional personalised service.

Adra Hostel is in one of the most iconic streets of Antigua, la Calle Real, just two blocks away from the central plaza. It is a classical colonial house from the XVIII century with beautiful architecture and a central patio where you can rest and soak up the sun. Adra’s objective is to generate a space where differences are respected and where attention and care for others in need is the rule. With that in mind, we encourage our guests and friends to participate in different social and volunteering activities around Antigua, where they get to meet like-minded locals and be part of the change.

Summary of traveller reviews

Adra Hostel in Antigua is praised for its excellent, central location, making it easy to explore the city. Guests frequently highlight the friendly and helpful staff, comfortable beds with privacy curtains, and the beautiful rooftop with volcano views. Some recent reviews mention that it can be noisy due to music from the restaurant/bar, and a lack of a communal kitchen is noted.

Big room did not have lockers big enough for a backpack so the rooms were covered in peoples belongings. Lighting was weak, just one flashlight per bed. Qr code for service did not work. Social areas were absolutely beautiful, lights and plants made it a wonderful experience. Liked this hostel for the night we were in it, but perhaps could have found a nicer one for the same price.

Wasn’t a very social hostel. More of a restaurant than anything else. Some staff were standoffish at times.

Not as social as a I would hope since its in the middle of Antigua, if you do not like loud music probably not the place. Besides that solid hostel, has fans in the bunks and clean bathrooms.
