Mapache Hostel is where people from around the world meet to experience the best of Holbox Island. We proud ourselves on excellent customer service and to ensure that you feel welcomed from the moment you step into the hostel until you leave as a friend.
We are a smaller, cozy hostel with a real family vibe compared to bigger party hostels. We have different types of accommodation for the individual traveller's needs.
We offer 6-bed mixed dormitories with AC or double tents with fans covered by a big palapa for rain and sun cover. We further have our glamping option the Tipi huts with fan and shared bathroom and our Deluxe private cabañas with ensuite bathroom and AC on the first floor.
There are daily activities taking place to bring people together and to show you the best that Holbox has to offer. Ideal for solo travellers!!
Our staff ratings are excellent throughout the web as we really make an effort to helping you out where we can and making you feel part of our island family.

Mapache Hostel Policies and Conditions:
Free Cancellation: 48h before arrival. Afterwards 50% of the total of your stay will be charged.
Card payments have a surgarge of 5%.
Check in from 15:00.
Check out before 11:00.
Payment upon arrival by cash or card.
General:
The reception service is open from 07.30 -22.30
No curfew.
Pet friendly.
Your room rate includes VAT and City tax but you will be asked to pay an environmental tax (Impuesto de saneamiento) in cash upon arrival. This tax has newly been introduced on February 1st 2024 and is 30.00 MXN per person per night. If you would like to use a locker in the shared dormitory we ask you for a 100MXN key deposit.
