LOF Hostal

LOF is a big old beach house right in the centre of Pichilemu, Chile's surf capital. Six minutes' walk to the main beach, ten minutes to Punta de Lobos, and half a block from supermarkets, ATMs, bakeries and seafood joints. Drop your bag and you won't need a car or a taxi again.

THE TERRACE
It's the reason people remember this place. Most evenings the whole house ends up upstairs watching the sun drop into the ocean. That's where you meet the people you end up travelling with.

BEDS
Mixed dorms, a female-only dorm, and private rooms if you want your own door — singles, doubles and twins, many with a private bathroom. Whatever you book you get the same house: fully equipped guest kitchen, living room with a big couch and TV, and fast wifi everywhere.

THE VIBE
Social by day, quiet enough to sleep at night. Reception is open from early morning until 1am, so there's always someone around, and we keep quiet hours because half the house is up at 7am to surf. No stag or hen parties here.

SURF
We have a deal with a local surf schools for cheap board rental and lessons — whether it's your first time standing up or you're going after the big stuff at Lobos. Someone in the house is always heading out; just ask at reception.

THE CREW
We run this ourselves alongside volunteers from all over the world, so the front desk speaks several languages and knows which beach works with today's wind, where to eat well for nothing, and when your bus leaves.

GOOD TO KNOW
Pay on arrival: cash, debit or credit. Weekdays are the sweet spot — emptier waves, calmer house, and we're flexible with long stays. Come for two nights and end up staying a week. The longer you're here, the less this feels like a hostel and the more it feels like a house you happen to live in.
