The Downtown Hostel is a fully renovated hostel, new beds, new kitchen and fully functional, huge terrace, nice common room and very comfortable, we also have a huge TV for watching Netflix movies during your stay, also in the terrace you will find a nice chill out open air area where you can smoke, the hostel is equipped with high speed internet. Our access is automatic and 24/7 access, front desk hours are from 8 am to 10 pm.

The Downtown Hostel is the best located hostel in town, we are right in the heart of Chetumal, very near to the most important touristic and transportation spots in the City, we are 300 meters away from the harbor to get the water taxi to Caye Caulker and San Pedro, we are in the middle of banks, grocery stores, very near to local market where you can find all organic food to cook in our fully equipped kitchen. Simply walking distance from everywhere

We have two fully equipped dorms with all the necessary amenities and services to ensure to our gusts and travelers a great stay within our facilities. We are sure that you will find a clean and comfortable hostel with us and will be glad to host you and help you in your trip plans!

The place is not a typical hostel as you may find in other cities like Bacalar or Tulum. Some guests were clearly living there long term. The staff was accommodating and “nice”, but small things were lacking. No soap in bathrooms, no drinking water in kitchen. Even a little music could help the atmosphere. Chetumal unfortunately does not offer much in terms of options for hostels. So if passing by, just pay the extra and stay at hotel. It will be worth it.

This place is…not very nice. The staff are all super friendly and lovely but the hostel has some flaws. Firstly, there are no locks on the doors which made me feel uneasy but there are lockable lockers inside the room which is some comfort. The bathroom in the mixed dorm was NOT clean. There was facial hair from men shaving, grime in the shower (which also didn’t work and we had to use the shower in the room next door). There was also 2 cockroaches in the bathroom. Cheap room but not much else

Overall it was a good stop before heading into Belize. The place was very clean but very quiet which I think is normal for the time of year. Felt safe in the building, staff was nice but they didn't have much advice on best places to eat or best way to get to Belize. Kitchen had everything except for cutlery, they only had knives. I'd stay here again if needed to.
