About

ABOUT US
The Blue Sheep Tirthan is a boutique hostel on the outskirts of Banjar (pronounced Banjaar) town in Tirthan Valley run by a native family. It houses four cozy cedar wood rooms, five dormitories with a designated female dorm for solo women travelers. The hostel has an in house cafe all tastefully curated to make one feel right at home during their stay.

The hostel is centrally located near Banjar bus stand between the towns of Jibhi and Gushaini at the confluence of Tirthan and Pushpabhadra river. It is surrounded by an abundant garden and ten different varieties of fruits trees which bless us with plentiful fruits all throughout the year. Tirthan valley is known for it's astounding biodiversity which makes it heaven for birdwatchers who can spot many exotic species right from the rooftop! It is also home to two loving dogs, Momo and Lapsi who will make your day with their cute shenanigans.

I spent 4 nights here, and I was genuinely sad when it was time to pack my bags. I simply didn't want to leave! The hosts are awesome and really set the tone for the place. I also met some amazing fellow travellers. It is centrally located, meaning places like Jalori Pass, Shoja, and various hikes in the Great Himalayan National Park (GHNP) are all under a two hour drive away.

Absolutely loved the vibe, and how homely and cozy it felt there! I’ve stayed at many hostels while travelling, but never did I feel so welcomed. Prudhvi is super energetic and sets the vibe of the place masterfully. If there’s one suggestion to give, I’d say there should be a sign outside that says where the hostel is but other than that nothing needs to be changed.
