Located in Central Queensland, it’s also known for its historic architecture and proximity to beautiful natural wonders, like the Mount Archer National Park and Fitzroy River. Though it’s a small city, it’s popular with backpackers as many pass through on their way to the Great Barrier Reef.

Walking trails take you through the stunning rainforest where you’ll be surrounded by an assortment of native plants. Once at the top, 604m later, you’ll be rewarded with gorgeous views of Rockhampton.
