About
haku hostel is a hostel where people from all walks of life can gather. It is the renovated and revitalized 'Kashiwamura Ryokan', which was opened and operated by the Kashiwamura family who migrated from Aomori Prefecture around the end of the Taisho period/beginning of the Showa period (around 1926).
The ryokan closed about 10 years ago, but before WWII there was a horse hitching post in the back yard, and it seems that it was quite a lively place with many visitors.
National Ainu Museum is near by haku, on walk about 10 minutes. We have rental bicycle service and some parking.
