The Youth Hostel of Vila do Conde, inaugurated in 2021, is located at Palacete Melo, a landmark in local history and a former bathing colony. Of romantic architectural style, the old mansion has been completely refurbished and sustainable and elegantly decorated, to make way for a hostel with double, triple and family rooms, all with private toilet, and also multiple rooms for groups or individual travellers. In this fantastic hostel, you will have your breakfast in the amazing lounges and meet new friends in the living room or even in the library. Outside the hostel, you will find a large garden, the perfect spot for socialising and outdoor fun.
‘Stretching between pine forests, river and sea’, as defined by José Régio, local author, Vila do Conde buzzes around its history and cultural and intangible heritage, its culinary traditions and centuries-old convent confectionery making to its vast nautical tourism offer (it has an incredible 18 km of beaches!). The Quinhentista Ship, the Bilros Lace Museum, the José Régio House, the Santa Clara Monastery and its Aqueduct, the International Short Film Festival, the National Arts and Crafts Fair or the São João Festival are unmissable suggestions to visit Vila do Conde.
