Semeru Hostel Malang

Semeru Hostel is a cozy inn with a simple home-style concept, specially designed for backpackers and travelers. Our hostel is perfect for young travelers who enjoy meeting new people, sharing stories, and connecting with fellow adventurers from around the world.

We provide free Wi-Fi in all areas, a shared kitchen, and a comfortable working space located in the communal dining area — ideal for digital nomads and remote workers.

Our front desk operates 24 hours to assist with check-in after 12 PM. However, please make sure to contact us through the phone number listed on Google Maps under “Semeru Hostel Malang.” Guests arriving after 12 PM are expected to book their room starting from the previous date to secure availability and avoid the room being given to other guests.

Payment is accepted upon arrival by cash or credit card (electronic payment machine available).

Please note that we only have shared bathroom facilities, located outside the rooms and separated from the shared toilets. We provide:

4 shared bathrooms (with warm water and bath soap; towels available upon request)

3 shared toilets

We offer 3 types of rooms:

8-bed dormitory

12-bed dormitory

Private dorm (2 beds in 1 room)

All dorm beds are equipped with a private curtain, personal reading lamp, electric plug, and clothes hanger to ensure comfort and privacy.

Our hostel is conveniently located in the city center, making it easy to explore Malang. You can easily find us on Google Maps. We are only:

4 minutes from Malang City (Kota Baru) Train Station

30 minutes from Batu City

Currently, we do not provide breakfast, but we are happy to recommend local breakfast spots around the hostel. Guests can enjoy 24-hour self-service mineral water refill, coffee, tea, and sugar free of charge.
